Two doors down a family has a large dog and they leave it on their patio. Bark, bark, bark! WTF? If I can hear it, so can you. Have some respect for your neighbors.

They moved in late last year and I fear it will be a problem this summer.

I am not saying, but there might be something sold a store intended for mice that might do the same thing for a larger animal if enough is consumed.

used to live in a subdivision whereall the rear yards were only separated by fencing... fucking dogs would just incessantly bark at each other. none of the owners gave a shit or even tried to take responsibility for their stupid noise making animal. my next door neighbor would go on a weeklong vacation, leaving his 3 giant dogs behind.... the guy would leave his back patio sliding door open so the dogs could go in and out... always made me shake my head in disbleief you could go on vacation and leave your house unlocked

I've thought about that but I don't think I want to go there.

When I was looking for a house, this was one of the things I was looking for. How many people have dogs? I got lucky and have 2 neighbors, 1 of which has dogs but does not do this.

This thought entered my mind while at my old townhouse where the neighbors had a viscious, snarling pittbull that used to bark at me from inside their deck. They often left the dog unattended. If their latch ever failed that dog was getting out. And I did talk to them but to no avail. Just like I talked to the police and the homeowners association. I kept a bat handy on my deck and inside my front door. Thankfully, they foreclosed and moved.

And I have always been a dog owner but I had my dog attacked by a pittbull when I was a kid and was nearly attacked by 3 large dogs several years ago.

Yeah the neighbor with 5000 watt Jesus has a dog that's outside pretty much from 6am until 11pm and barking all the time. I don't blame the dog but I am starting to hate those asshole humans.

Everytime I open my garage door and walk outside this fucking lab across the street starts barking. Its loud as hell, annoying and lasts for a good 5 minutes. This also happens anytime anyone else walks by their house or on the running trail which is behind their house. The owners just laugh it off and its pretty god damn annoying. It when screaming up to some other people walking their dogs when the dumbasses didn't have it on a leash. It also went after the mail lady who was in my yard. She was fucking pissed. I hope she turned their negligent asses in.

My mom lives in a townhouse next to a lady who has a dog that barks constantly outside. She never complained to anyone except to us, her kids. Now the dog has grown and is now 6-7 years old and the problem never went away. Your best bet is to talk to your neighbors... otherwise the problem will continue.

I say this as someone who recoils at the image of hurting or suffering animals, even nature documentaries: Aren't intrusive thoughts like wishing to harm a bothersome animal (or relative or other loved one) common in humans? I think—hope—that is what DAC was referring to when he talked about such an act "crossing his mind".
