This is a good law but it should be 16 or 17.

Having minors who can't made adult decisions for themselves legally play football is wrong.

16 and 17 are not adults either.

If you think 18 that's fine.

How early are they starting hormones and penile mutilation these days? Nobody gives a shit about that. I mean Brick, even you waited until adulthood to cut your balls off.

There is an small illinois high school message board that I use to help follow how my hometown area teams are doing. Many of the posters there are high school football coaches (mostly NW/central Illinois). So far, every one of them supports this passing. Small sample size, but they're 100% for it.

Anyone younger than 18, no reason for it.

College football is already terrible now, but can you imagine what would happen to the product if kids only started playing tackle football when they were 18. It's like the sport of football is trying to kill itself.

It would be pretty hard to have football if you couldn't play before 18.

You can be worse than terrible.

It would be pretty hard to have football if you couldn't play before 18.

The skill positions would be fine. The others would need to catch up but by the time they were 20 they would be fine.

Small sample size and all, but the 2 guys I avoid in my neighborhood played SEC football, one O-line, the other D-line. Neither seem all there in the head and just seem off. They are in their 30's but talking to them its like they are old men.

You can be worse than terrible.

If the product is terrible and people love it then whatever decline happens won't matter much.

You shouldn't have opened with college football being terrible.

In ten years, when women have fully taken over the country, the NFL will be first on the chopping block.

Why? Why do we treat 10 year old with different rules?

You liberals do all the time. It's why you let millions of unborn babies be slaughtered via abortion every year. That's ok? But tackle football isn't?

There aren't even enough NFL quarterbacks to go around at this point.

Most high school quarterbacks already do a ton of 7 on 7 work to improve. They can start at 16 playing tackle and be fine 4 years later.

7 on 7 does little to improve players and enforces bad habits if you are worried about winning. Particularly AAU 7 on 7 which bring absolutely nothing positive to the game of football. The game is drastically different when you can not get hit.

I have seen my team get torched in 7 on 7 by Laquon Treadwell and also by players who couldn't play dead once the equipment was put on. If you think recruiting is ht or miss now, it would be nearly impossible with equipment. Not to mention finding linemen.
