That sort of implies that there are good movies starring Chris Elliot.

I just spent a couple hour repairing my snow blower. You can all thank me for preventing any substantial snowfall for the rest of the year.

There’s even a bad movie starring Chris Elliot with this theme—the kids sabotage the snow plow driver to get a day off.

It's literally called Snow Day, and it is awful. It also starred a way past his funny prime, Chevy Chase.

He was solid in Groundhog Day.

If we are counting the movies where he is not the lead he was great in Something About Mary.

I think he is a very fun guy but I can see why it hasn't translated into huge commercial success. His style is fatiguing.

Elliot's best work was when he did the sketches on Letterman.

Yeah, Elliott's best work were side roles from Groundhog Day and There's Something about Mary.

His best role, though, is Hanson from Scary Movie 2. I love when he mixes the mashed potatoes with his little hand. So great.

 I love how this has digressed from the storm to Chris Elliott’s career. Still more interesting than the NBA trade deadline being discussed in the B&G section!

The NBA is still around? Fuck that.

Whoever said Something About Mary earlier, IMO, Chris Elliott made that movie.

Chris Elliott is a national treasure. His only true leading role film was funny and his bit parts in others are all solid.

I believe I read that when Bill Murray was offered the role of Ernie McCracken, he was notorious for not getting back to people. They lined up Chris Elliott and said ‘the job is yours UNLESS Murray gets back to us and accepts.’ One day Bill showed up and Chris was out. That’s why he has the random bit role as the bartender in Reno.

Yep, his peak (and probably Letterman's peak too):

This all started with Frank's unnecessary attack on Chris Elliot. Elliot is actually very underrated. Between this and BRICK handing it to him, he is going to need some Vaseline tonight. Just a rough, rough, day for Frank on this board.

I've got a sick kid at home and his only request was if I could bring home some waffles. So I say OK, and then go to the Jewels... buy waffles and a handful of other things, and then 20 minutes to check out. It was busier than the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Lines were twelve people deep. I did not go to the bread aisle, so I'm not sure if that got cleaned out or not. :)

Wife said the Minooka Jewels was like Christmas Eve a little while ago. Meanwhile, I get to spend another night in suburban Baltimore due to my flight being canceled. Gonna drink it up tonight!

I was blissfully unaware of the impending snowmaggedon when I went to the local Jewels. Little old ladies were jabbering about it and I decided to grab charcoal, a big roast, miscellaneous crap for the bottomless stomach that is my teen son. And a bottle of tequila.

Winning?!?

Charcoal grilling during a snowstorm is definitely winning.

And wrong thread for this, but I'm pissed that stupid Monopoly game is back... like I wasn't annoyed enough in how long it takes to check out there, let's make some rube count out exactly 26 tickets to give the guy ahead of me and he will end up with nothing but 50 cents off a cream cheese and 2 free Monopoly tickets next time he goes to the store.
