I see it as more of a social issue anyway. Germany & Switzerland have a high rate of guns per person but fairly low homicide rate. Countries with low gun ownership and high crime are Britain & Mexico. japan and China have strict gun control and low crime but I'm not interested in being China or other countries like it. We have high guns/high crime. There are thousands of responsible gun owners. Our issue seems to be the mentally ill and social conditions.

So, how do so many people who have never owned a gun do these things?

Also, let's use search & seizure as an example. Say I was carrying a gun, and a police officer started an illegal search and seizure of my vehicle. Is the expectation that I use my gun to stop it?

If anything, police officers would be safer to deal with in the hypothetical dream world where no civilians have guns. It would solve much of the "feared for his life" line of thinking.

Repeal of 2nd Amendment != "Nobody has a gun".

A better solution is to not hire mentally/emotionally unfit cops.

Well, I'm going in the extreme there as an aid to the idea that Speech & Assembly, Search & Seizure, and Voting rights would follow suit if we lost the 2nd amendment. It's presumably because citizens cannot rise up and shoot someone who wants to stop them from voting.

Yep, it equals only the government has a gun and those are trustworthy people.

Just ask people living on reservations how that one worked out.

I think if you've had mental health treatment that you forfeit your 2nd amendment rights until a mental health professional says that you are fine. This kid was expelled from school because of violence and reported to the FBI because of a video threat of violence but was legally allowed to own this weapon. The kid needed additional treatment but America (Not Croissant America) gave him a gun and essentially allowed him to slaughter other innocent kids.

I have a feeling there are a lot of delusional Hispanics making up most of these white nationalist groups. Lauren Southern's orbiters hardly look like the Wehrmacht.

Plenty of Florida Cubans see themselves as white.

The guy's name is Nikolas. maybe his mama in Cuba got knocked up by a Soviet sailor in Havana and he moved to Florida with a half white mission. Russia!

Cubans have all kinds of wacky Russianesque names now. Every other reliever who comes here is named "Dostoyevsky Hernandez" or something.

That will certainly encourage people who want to own guns to also seek treatment for mental health issues!

That's not how mental health treatment works. I was treated for something, but never given a "Certified: Not Crazy" diploma. So in your insane world I would also be precluded from now owning a weapon.

Nas wrote:

"Video threat of violence" do you mean "a comment on YouTube from an account bearing his name was reported to the FBI"? The two are not at all the same same, and even the FBI said they could not confirm who was behind the account. Good to see you pontificating on the rights people should have while knowing all the relevant facts, though.

That's so disingenuous you need to be told to go fuck yourself.
