Sox always seem to do well against Robertson. God knows what Floyd will do tommorow. Great pitching matchup for the Sunday nite game.

Lot of uncertainty in this series. I don't trust Contreras or Floyd - hopefully the weather will be cold and the ball will stay in the park. I have to believe that the Tigers offense will wake up as well. Might be a bad combination, though you'd think the White Sox offense should be able to score a bit on the Tigers pitching staff as well.

Bet the over in Willis vs. Floyd. Chances are good both will be erratic.
That said, the Sox are coming across Detroit at a good time for them. The Tigers have a host of injuries from ST and also in this first week. Sox should take 2 of 3.

Keep in mind, the past 3 seasons the Sox have done exceptionally well against the Tigers-- especially in Comerica Park.

When JC is on his game, there are few more entertaining pitchers to watch work on the mound... the movement, the wacky arm angles, the emotion... hopefully we will see a lot of that today!

And Comerica is a pitcher's park... good god it looks like batting practice out there.

5-4 already bottom of the third..

Jose is looking solid. so far 3 innings pitcher, 5 er, 5 hits 4 walks...wtf?

Kenny should be shot for keeping this guy, but again, it cant be easy pitching when u r 50.

If he could throw the f'ing ball over the plate, he'd minimize his damage. 4 walks already, unreal. Also wild pitches will kill him. The saving grace so far for him has been his velocity is back in the 90's

Thats rough, going from a foot away from a 3 run shot, to a double play inning ender.

Other than the 2 run blast, Floyd looked alright.

This game reminded me of 2005, good to see taking at least 2 of 3 in detroit. Jenks needs to stop walking people.

Let's hope that the White Sox can continue to pile on the losses to Detroit tomorrow night. Hopefully, no Sunday lineups for Ozzie! Today, he had quite a few backups in with the lefty on the mound. I'm not sure who Detroit has going tomorrow, but I would have been happy with a 3-3 road trip to Cleveland and Detroit to open the season. Now, 4-2 would be as good a start as even an optimist could have imagined.

Should have mentioned in my previous post that it is really encouraging to see Gavin Floyd and John Denks open the season strong. I don't have much doubt that Buerhle and Vazquez will be fine, and Contreras will be up and down all season, but these two guys have to grow up this season. It's only one start, but for these guys to pitch well against two assumed great offenses has to be great for the confidence of them.

Its really nice to get 3 wins in a row against CLE/DET. I know its too early to even say its early, but its nice to see so far. I love this offense compared to the shit last year. I still wish we had a real leadoff, but Nick Swisher is pretty good. Theres definitely been some signs for optimism for this year. Overall I live what the pen has been able to do.

I dunno how much up he has left. Ozzie seemed to be at a mid-season impatience level with Contreras during that mound visit yesterday. It's still the first week of the season. I think Jose is going to be a well paid 12th man in the bullpen sooner than later.

Now way! He's a brillauint pitcher/. Just ask Regfular Rweader. Hes much better than Buerhle.

Alright guys, let improve on this a little bit. Buehrle (0-0, 37.80 ERA)

He has to locate his fastball.... shades of second half '06 when every 89 mph heater he threw up in the zone got hit hard somewhere. Defense loves his penchant for working fast, sometimes i wish he would slow down and nibble a bit a la Glavine instead of pitching to contact when his location is off.

That being said it's early...
