I don't know whether that is true, and this gets back to the game you love to play wherein you force others to say things to prove they're not a "racist, apologist for racists, or ignoring racism". And I think it is fundamentally unfair to use someone's desire to not be viewed as racist to compel them to do something they wouldn't otherwise do.

Also, the board is loaded with posters who will call a reaction GIF objectively racist, why would I feel the need to add my voice to that chorus of crazy?

Rumors of its demise have been greatly exaggerated.

The mere fact that you believe that it is some sort of "game" speaks volumes. If you noticed it wasn't I who started the thread either. Obviously others felt that this was a problem too. I'm also not out to prove or disprove whether you are a racist either. What is apparent is that you have never had a problem with those that express bigoted views. Whether it is Neo Nazis, Trump, to certain individuals that post on here its the same beat. Your only issue is with people that call others on this sort of thing. I'm not trying to find out what is truly in your heart either.

It is also interesting how your need to infer meanings works too. When you're wrong about something you invariably will attempt to switch the narrative or infer what someone is attempting to accomplish. You are attempting to deflect from my essential point also. You have never called anyone on their racism. You always seem to have a problem with those that are offended by it however.

I second that emotion.

My first inclination is no, probably not (I mean, anyone can sue anyone for anything, whether it would survive a motion to dismiss or a hearing is another question).

Interestingly, though, awhile back I wanted to look at whether it was defamatory to allege racism or prejudice, and on the whole it appears it isn't. There was one very interesting case, though, where someone sued for defamation in the face of allegations of antisemitism (pay attention, LTG), and, as I recall, "won" when the court ruled that a resident telling an assembled HOA that "I know these people, they hate jews" was a false statement of fact and rose to the level of defamation. I say "won" because my hazy memory has me thinking the court said they failed to show damages, blah blah blah.

So calling someone a racist is a matter of opinion and not defamatory because opinions are protected by the First. Saying there is a factual basis to support racism where none actually exists, though....is, or could be, actionable.

There are many that are claiming his eye roll gif is proof that he is a racist and his history has proven it was more than just a simple mistake and there was some sort of ulterior motive to it.

However, if you claim that no one here is saying he is a racist then I'll accept that and I'm sure he will too. This just seems like it's destined to be another one of those "Scorehead $1000 bet" things with the goal to get a guy to quit the board. We'll be hearing about the eye roll gif for months.
