Saw this on Saturday evening and really enjoyed it. Kind of hit home for my me and especially my wife as we deal with a difficult child at times.
The acting, story and directing were all on point. Disappointed it didn't win any awards last night but just wasn't the year for it.

I thought this should have won Best Picture, not the trippy fish sex movie.

If not for Janney, I thought that Metcalf would have definitely won for supporting actress. She was great.

Why did you name your daughter Lynda Bird?

Because Lynda Dog would be too cruel.

Thought it was a pretty good movie. Very sincere coming of age flick. I loved the shots of Sacramento, “the Midwest of California.” It was better than Juno but I like the character Juno better than Lady Bird.

that's not promising; the character Juno was the least likable part of the movie for me. couldn't even get a "thunder cats" reference correct, and knew who dario argento was but not herschell gordon lewis? diablo cody tries too hard.

I watched it tonight and thought it was very good. I liked Saoirse Ronan in both this and Brooklyn. Besides this and Three Billboards I haven't seen any of the other movies in which the actress was nominated for Best Actress, but I thought Ronan's performance was far better than McDormand's.
