It is ridiculous. Why doesn't he practice throwing it to the first baseman instead of this crap. It's tougher to learn bouncing it than it is just throwing it.

10 year old kids can make this throw.

I don't want to hear about a mental block. Lester is just weird for not wanting the do it.

It really is. This fucker is making 20 million a year and he can't practice throwing it to the glove?

Let's say he perfects the bounce throw, it still hurts the Cubs, because it's always quicker to throw it to the glove. You can tell by watching this video. The guy almost beat it out.

Why don't guys bunt on him every time and make his ass do this bounce throw?

If you can learn to make a bounce throw, then you sure as hell can learn to make a regular throw. Get him on the field every day, roll him balls and have him learn to throw to first. Half hour every day. Don't teach this shit.

Gotta talk about something when there's no position battles, no injuries, and the roster is pretty much set before day one of Spring Training.

Like they care who leads off. The only thing they have to worry about is the starting rotation for the playoffs.

You should post more often.

Do people not listen to what Theo/Jed actually say? Their philosophy on the lineup does not call for a traditional leadoff hitter like so many are wanting to see in the lineup. Right or wrong that is the way it is. So stop expecting them to make a move for a leadoff guy.

Lester is clearly the worst at this, but there are MANY pitchers who have real trouble throwing to second base for a force out. It amazes me how they can throw thru a teacup from the mound, but can't get a baseball within 10 ft of the first or second baseman.

They had their epiphany on this only after they didn't have a guy who could handle the spot. Two years ago retaining their traditional leadoff man was considered a key component to the success of the season

No actually they have been pretty consistent on this. Bringing Fowler back was considered a luxury.

Big-time pitchers are delicate geniuses, like physical therapists.

what about when they acquired him the first time

Consistent in their thoughts but inconsistent in their actions.
