Some have terrible home lives. Some are just bad people. Some aren't disciplined and limits aren't set in school. It sucks.

Provided you have security measures to keep non-students out(of course that didn't work in Florida)...an expelled student shouldn't be allowed access to the building. If they are an active student, they can still be granted entry and bring in a weapon(if you don't have metal detectors).

Furthermore, this little shit stain shouldn't be able to bring down other kids, make them miserable, drag down their grades. Fucking liberals always think of the best interests of the pure trash of society.

The most frustrating thing are people like Spaulding(not an educator I hope), who love to make laundry lists of excuses for bad behavior.

No, I do not think they have right to ruin other kids opportunities. I have occasionally had to deal with this at my kids' schools.

You'd be kicking a lot of kids to the curb and I'd assume they will probably end up being low to non functioning adults. You don't see this as a problem?

The kid is probably a great student. I don't think you should give up on a kid. Maybe place him in a different class or get him some help. Kids will have to deal with distractions as an adult. The earlier they figure it out the better. If it isn't fighting Joey it's Larry the class clown.

You're not a great student if you've been suspended 17 times. How you could even possibly make the jump to "probably great" is beyond me.

Also, is fighting not a crime, anymore? Are we going to look at multiple suspensions for fighting and not wonder why the police are not involved for what is looking to be serial criminal behavior? Yes, we allow schools to discipline students outside of the justice system for certain things, but not 17 times of the same thing.

Why would you make that assumption based on the information given?

With technology available such as Khan Academy, put the blatant offenders in a separate room and let them learn without disrupting other kids. There may be a right to an education, but there is no right to an education in the same room with other kids where you have shown an inability to coexist.

Just a guess. I've seen a lot of really bright kids have behavioral issues. Most are just bored and some need guidance.

His intelligence is irrelevant. You don't get to commit regular acts of violence against other students and disrupt the learning environment of MANY because you may be exceptionally bright. Something more needs to be done to punish this child, because saying "Ok Joey, after you wash the blood of that other student off your hands, you really need to buckle down on your algebra or I'll send you home" hasn't freaking worked.

Also, he's not starting fights at lunch because he should actually be in AP Biology.

Coworker didn't say if all 17 were for fighting, just that it's been 17 (3 out of school, 14 in-school). I guess the kid is pretty much a bullying ass, whether a stranger or a 'friend'.

The principal sent an email saying that he wanted the kids that moved to a different table to apologize to 'Joey'. My coworker lost it and replied that she will not have her son apologize. She then sent him some of the text messages Joey had been sending. The principal called her and said an apology wouldn't be necessary....

Think this makes it worse... These kids are in middle school (8th grade). So Joey has 4 years of high school yet to sit and cook-up his plan to destroy everyone.

No fucking way you give up on a kid that's not even a teenager. Caller Bob is my guy but I hope he isn't an educator because he would discard a lot of kids.
