Ravinia can be nice.
Went with the wife to see CSO do John Williams music (that was pretty damn cool) and saw Billy Corgan.
Outside on a nice cool summer night, tunes, some beers. It's certainly not the ozzfest style crowd.

A bastion of masculinity, like the Ravinia Festival, should, IMO, also honor the 2nd amendment at their facility too.

I'm usually good for the CSO each year. SIL who is in to classical music organizes things. I enjoy some frosty beers and the picnic. Then if the classical music becomes too boring I just pull out the smartphone (on mute of course!) and do a little OTB wagering. I recall hitting a $110 exacta once

I like the Ravinia experience. Not a place I want to go see Slayer, but it has it's purpose.

Go find something else to bag on.

Great venue and very convenient for me, so I go to 2-3 concerts a year there. Still can't bring myself to do the whole wagon-full of crap, with the linens and gourmet spread though. I prefer the pavilion and eating before getting there.
