Looking at the Chiefs offense, they didn't really have a big name receiving threat. Their TE was the main target in the passing game. I would imagine that is what the Bears will look like this season. Graham would make that happen.

They use their RB quite a bit as well.

I saw that both Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead are free agents. I doubt the Patriots sign both and I would be happy with either playing significant but non featured rolls.

I just have a sneaking suspicion that Howard will not be on the team by this time next year, if not sooner.

Agreed on Howard. He has Roberto Duran hands.

No.

Just updating what has been going around here for at least a month. And didn't start with you. This is about the only thread where I read your posts. Just because you make everything personal, don't think I'm anything like that or you.

Should the Bears pursue Suh???

No

Too small to be a DT on a 3-4 and too slow to move to linebacker.

This.

And MANY will pass because he is a bad locker room guy.

Free-agency nuggets from @RapSheet + @MikeGarafolo:

- Saints, Packers, Bears interested in Jimmy Graham
- Packers, Bears, Chiefs, Jaguars into Sammy Watkins
- Packers, Bears have eyes for Allen Robinson.

Packers had the slowest WR corps in the nfl last year. I’m not the biggest fan but Watkins would certainly fill a big hole.

You better get on the (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky train now.

The #Dolphins have emerged as the front-runner for #Chiefs FA WR Albert Wilson, sources say, with a hotter than expected market. It’s still fluid, one source cautioned. He’s coming off a career high in catches (42) and yards (554) and would beef up the receiving group.

He was supposed to be a lock to the Bears. Ryan Pace getting pantsed again.

Dolphins have swooped the Bears for Albert Wilson. Bears appear to not really have their shit together at all.

This could also very easily be a ploy by Wilson's agent to get the Bears to up the dollar a bit, though at least in baseball its usually the vague "mystery team" that is used as a source of fake-demand. There's a danger in feeling like the Bears have guys like Wilson and Fulton, two really intriguing buy-low candidates that have very obvious potential, locked up a month ago. The other 31 teams dont give a shit about that. They are gonna make calls and try to nab these players out from under the Bears nose. Its like dating in HS.

I just don't think Pace is "well connected" with agents in this league.

Everyone probably knows he sucks. Great at picking running backs though.

Yea the Bears should easily be able to blow Houston and Miami out of the water here. I dont want to hear shit about value or any other garbage. Pace has had three years to be value-conscious. The guys they think they need to be good starting right the fuck now should be brought in no-excuses.

For them to be 2-6 halfway through the season while Albert Wilson is playing a competent slot WR for Miami and the Bears are sulking about the Dolphins offering him like $2m more...yea that wont fly. Pace has done a average-to-below-average job, in fairness held back significantly by Ted Phillips and Ernie Accorsi meddling, getting them to this pivotal off season where its all supposed to come together. The only things they really have going for them is a young QB for whom the sky is the limit, a pretty good looking group of coaches (even with the overrated DC) and more cap space, REAL TRUE CAP SPACE not bullshit rollover like the Browns & 49ers, than any team could reasonably need.

They cant fuck this up. They really cant fuck this up.

It is odd how so many people put faith in a GM that is 13-34. GarPax go .500 and fans want them in a concentration camp.

That's the big point right there. If they were sitting on double digit draft picks, they could maybe be a bit more picky. Pace really doesn't have any choice but to pay up.

The thing about Burton, Wilson and Fulton is we know those are guys the Bears really like and want. They cant fail to sign them, settle on other options, then pretend like "oh these were our guys all along". Unless their solution to missing out on Wilson is to sign someone clearly better like Watkins AND Robinson or something along those lines it'll be impossible to understand losing out on any one of them, much less two of the three.

When it comes to other players or positions things are less clear. We dont really know what they want to do at CB, OT, LB...so I wont know if they strike out there like I will with these other dudes.
