I didnt like Spiegs but their show was coming around. Could have tried a three man booth with Mac. Spiegs plays the role of Harry, Mac becomes Jurko and Parkins is Mac.

I absolutely hated Grimmace when he was on with MAC. He was much better with Parkins. I'm surprised they sent him packing. Kind of weird that he would have just re-upped for 2 years though. Doesn't the parent company own XRT as well? If he is cool with it I wouldn't be surprised to see him go there and also do the hit and run thing on weekends

Spiegal is pretty good on Baseball. But his penchant for wanting to prove to the world what an enlightened and evolved human being he is, grew tiresome and irritating. The job is to talk sports. Stick to the task.

I was about to say that TV networks don't employ guys over four balloons, but NBC Sports Chicago employs Jiggs, who might be closer to five than four.

Too fat for TV. They make an exception for Jiggets because he's a former athlete and about the nicest guy you could meet.. No exception for Spiegs. He can just go play in his cover band and think about the missteps he made and how he should have shown Mac more respect.

Catching up on podcasts, and it seems like they knew it was coming on Friday. Spiegs said something like "this is the beginning of the end" and Parkins made a comment about the show being broken up with Spiegs doing a Mac impression. They all knew, hence the reason for the "show dinner".

But overall, it kinda sucks. I thought Matt and Danny really gelled lately, and the overall show has been entertaining. Really good camaraderie it seemed.

Matt kept the middays going after Mac ditched, and this is how he's "rewarded"? Screw 670. Won't be listening to Dan B in the middays, and Mac really isn't my thing, so.....good thing Cubs radio is back on the air!

This would be a terrible change in direction for XRT and a worse move for the station's audience. It was bad enough listening to this bovine boob bloviate about sports; being subjected to his mediocre musical musings would be even worse.
