Actually no, the bit is me making fun of your bad spelling while trying to be the smartest guy in the room. You're having a bad day again. You should take another break.

Do you guys in anyway think this is a message to Bernstein to stay on the sports track?

His best radio was never purely about sports.

To me it was though. I know there are differing opinions on this but i never found him to be an interesting personality. Boers was good at being a personality. McNeil with Boers were funny. J. Hood was a personality. Even North.

Not Bernstein though. His stuff always seemed forced.

I liked him when first came on and just talked sports. He got away from that at some point and became the medical/legal/business expert and it just became annoying.

I think the station as whole changed once the buyout/merger happened. It became a little rigid and the hosts became rather vanilla. Boers was really the only holdover from the era in which the envelope was pushed. Bernstein and some of his stuff was tame compared to the stuff North used to do.

North and McNeil especially would push the buttons of management on a regular also. They used to give Gleason the flux as i recall. I couldn't imagine Bernstein doing that today and he is the guy with allegedly the most pull at the station.

Pushing buttons and chiming in occasionally to knock Bernstein down a couple rungs is what made him great. That may as well be a lifetime ago.

The attitude thing is real. I worked with kids from the neighborhood he grew up in. Some of which already had violent criminal records. When it manifests itself in the tired "me against the world, everyone is out to get me" thing, it's a crash and burn situation in waiting. We see it play out every nice weekend in Chicago. Ego is a motherfucker. Humility is a dying art all over but I dont know if that was ever much of a thing in the neighborhoods Goff grew up in. Not for many decades, at least.

That's gotta be the oddest rationalizations ever: "Everybody loves me, because if they didn't I would have done better in the ratings!"

It doesn't seem like that would have driven so much traffic.

It was MSFMB Day wasn’t it?

No that was October 2013.

Not to be that guy (who’s monitoring twitter) but he’s still arguing with people on Twitter over ratings, disputing they were 19th in the rankings

Who was #1, and by how much, Jason?

And while Jason is technically right, and Feder should know better than to hang his hat on overall figures considering he got in trouble for posting the demo numbers, Jason shouldn't invite deep discussion on just how his show was performing in the demo.

And for whom exactly is this "favor being done"?

Let's be honest.

Goff lost the 25-54 year old crackers.

I know Goff won't believe it, it's not because they are all racist. It's because Goff was racist. That white demo got sick of Goff calling them racist for not liking basketball or thinking you should stand for the national anthem. Got sick of him telling them that they are racist.

I saw this coming. I warned Goff. But he knows it all.

Well, I guess he doesn't.

How many stations compete solely for this narrow market?

Solely? Very few. Broadly? Nearly all of them because it is highly profitable.

Look, they wouldn't have fired him if he was doing well.

For Goff to go nuts like this is amazing. He's loosing an audience with his antics and they want Mac's cracker ass to bring it back. Bottom line.

Goff hurt Bernstein as well. His ass has to go to middays for a pay cut. The afternoon audience Bernstrein had built left once Goff came in with his flame thrower.

Can Goff just say he fucked up? He had a great chance and ruined it because of an attitude.

I think, in Goff's mind, Feder is doing a favor for Mitch and the Score for the decision.

If they were doing so well in the demo, then why couldn't they sell ad time?

If they were doing so well in the demo, why did he lose his job? How much detective work does he think this situation calls for?

He's probably using selective data from September/October, which would be believable.

If I had to guess, I'd say Mitch is on thin ice himself. His relationship with DeCastro, with whom he goes way back, may save him, but somebody up the ladder has to be blaming him.

Jason mentioned that the Blackhawks reached out to him to wish him well. That was a magnanimous gesture, considering all Jason ever wished the Blackhawks was that they go away.

Unless the station decided that Mac needed a full time show again or there was some major tension between Bernstein/Goff that resulted in the show being canned, how could this not be related to ratings?

Seems like an odd argument to make if Goff is claiming that the show was performing well.

I'm truly fascinated by the mindset that if someone is an asshole, then someone else has free and clear license to be an asshole back, because that's how decent, rational adults think.
