That flickering flame of sports talk in Mac's heart will soon be smoldering.
The question is how soon?

less than 2 months - 10:1 :weelchairbb:
2 months 1 day to 4 months - 8:1 :joker:
4 months 1 day to 6 months - 6:1 :batman:
6 months 1 day to 9 months - 4:1 :eye:
9 months 1 day to 12 months - 2:1
1 year one day to 1 year 6 months - 1:2 :tomato:

Dumbass.

I think Mac will work long enough to put $1M in savings aside as an additional bankroll to take care of his son Patrick. So depending on how much paper he's getting, 5-7 years.

Mac has a habit of ruining a good thing. If anyone else was making that king of money we d shut up and take some of it. But not Mac. Hope this time around he gets how privileged he is.

Longer than Goff? Not sure. Mac has a history of walking out quick if things don’t go right

Friggin Mac has had more radio "lives" than I have had more real ones.

Mac and Parkins can be as good as any of our other favorite pairings/threesomes over the past 25 years.

Completely agree.

If Parkins can keep Mac engaged they could be an all time great show. I think he can and will.

It is going to be great for both guys. Parkins gets away from the purple slob. Mac gets the spot back he has always wanted. Good things coming

I think a good update guy and a good producer or two is going to be important as well. Little things, like is Tanny going with Bernstein, or is he shifting to Parkins/Mac? What's Shep going to do now that he shit all over Mac while he was gone?

Jay Z as executive producer, Camp and Tanny, input from Grote most days either as an update guy or from Halas Hall. I think Parkins has been there long enough to know who he wants and who he doesn't.

It's gonna be great!

Rah asked me..."What's wrong with you...is this the radio thing?"

Yes, dear. It's the radio thing.

If Mac can be a #2 it will be great. If he fights Parkins for #1 it won't last long.

I think having to spend time pushing cars might have been just the attitude adjustment Mac needed .

He’ll have to stick around longer than that to save that kind of cash. The halcyon days of mega-paychecks for radio hosts has long since passed.

I think Mac would prefer someone capable to drive the show. He wanted that in Spiegs but has it in Parkins. Mac can use a person that is as passionate as he was in his younger days. Parkins is that guy.

As long as he truly wants to. He's great at his job when he's engaged and interested. I hope that the time off has been of benefit. I am confident he will make an impact on ratings and The Score will draw a significantly improved ratings book in the year to come. Trimming Spiegs and Goff was good, but it's a shame Bernstein couldn't be axed, rather than just demoted. But Mac is in the afternoon slot he wanted and I bet he hits the ground running and the show will be very successful. I wish he could have hand picked his 2nd, but maybe Parkins is good. I stopped listening to the Score for the most part, except for Cubs games, so I have no idea if Parkins is any good. Now I will have a reason to tune into 670am again.

That is sort of why this thread was created.

You guys sound like the jamokes that followed Ditka to New Orleans. Mac has lost his fast ball and he has no desire to work hard to get back to old form. How many guys in their 50's are fat with low stamina always telling anyone who will listen how "great" they were back in the day and they can get back into shape any time they want? Mac will flame out in less than two years and the Score will be worse off because of it. This is Johnny B part II all over again and Mitch should be fired for his lack of talent evaluation. Wash, rinse, repeat. :puker:

I like Mac a lot, can't stand Spiegel and despise the current versions of Goff and Bernstein. So I'm happy with what has transpired this week.

Having said that, Mac will be gone in 15 months if the Bears and Hawks both repeat their shitty seasons. He doesn't care enough about other sports to sustain a show for a long time.

They made a prop bet on the show today with the over/under set at 83 weeks
