His act is wearing thin. Time to upset the apple cart.

He sounds like Weekend Nationally Syndicated Sports Talk 30-Something Guy #4. I don't hear anything distinctive in his voice or approach.

He sounds like someone who wants to call himself "like, a total nerd" but was never ridiculed or ostracized for his passions.

He might sound like it, but there's no way that's actually accurate.

His impersonation of corrugated cardboard is stunning.

I apologize for making this thread, as I didn't realize it would devolve into anti-Irish bigotry.

He and Laurence are kind of like the male versions of Zooey Deschanel.

Is clashing nerd cultures with a Rebel Alliance shirt and a Wolverine mug the same faux pas as wearing clashing athletic brands?

No, I think it is. He appears to be a factory-issue midwest bro who confuses the consumption of mass media with "being a nerd."

I don't get why they thought McNight was great.

Spiegel and Bernstein would have been a better show.

Yeah and that's why I don't think the comparison with Holmes above is the most accurate. I've always gotten the sense that Holmes' nerdiness is completely genuine, and that's what makes all the talk of hallway and elevator fights sound so ridiculous.

Ah. Like people who think watching Big Bang Theory is for nerds when true nerds despise the show.

Poor Drinky. If he could've held out 15 more months, he might've had this job.

What constitutes pro-Irish bigotry?

Kinda. More like people who think that's it's so nerdy to be into Star Wars, a movie franchise that grosses billions of dollars. Must have been lonely for you, neeeeeeeeerrrd.

There are some notable exceptions, but if you choose your label, chances are that it never hurt.
