Dan owes Spiegel nothing as he is the reason Spiegel existed at 670 in the 1st place.

As for Goff, fuck him and his now neutered former co-host

Absolutely. Jimmy D's arrival guaranteed changes... not an if thing, definitely a when.

Love him or hate him, he's a pretty sharp radio guy that is extremely cognizant of talent and their chemistry with each other and relating to the listener.

Hope McKnight grows because the noon hour and transition today (granted first day and tough situation) were decidedly not great. Just felt like weekend guy filling in still but not enough presence to have his own thought and conviction. Hope it improves but at least they got spiegs on standby? Dont think Rozner cares but think its kinda funny that spiegs is taking that role.

Would guess based on hearing the 5pm hour and how danny was describing it Mac knew and had an idea of the master plan and probably did the asking for the sunday but I think Parkins honestly mightve went into it with wide eyes and thought holy shit a chance to work with my radio hero for a day which is hilariously naive in retrospect. If spiegs just got two years tho given their ratings i could see how he didnt think it was gonna happen tho just being caught up in building that

Didn't see a podcast link up on the website yet. Hopefully they get today's show on there tonight.

Can't believe McNeil took that shot at Goff at the end.

And while there’s a lot of dancing on Bernstein’s grave, the changes seem to have as much to do with DeCastro’s relationships as they do with ratings. He wanted Mac back and was well aware of his time slot demands. He also was a McDoink guy so he found a place for him and Speigs payed the price.

Love the changes DeCastro made. My question is, why is Mitch Rosen still employed if he isn't calling the shots? He totally ruined the feel of the score and deserves to be fired.

Listening to the first hour podcast now. In the beginning Parkins is so giddy. and he should be. He's the #1 guy now on the station. Well Deserved.

I like that Dan said the right things also about he needs to do what to do to succeed. Maybe it'll work out this time around.

Nick Shepkowski is executive producer now.

Skipping to the end of the show.

Mac goes off on Bernstien - 'going to watch some bulls........someone on the afternoon show has to'.

That was tongue in cheek. Mac is well known for his dislike of the NBA.

Why is Parkins constantly repeating he had nothing to do with it?

He SHOULD SAY He had everything to do with it even if he didn't.

That would put all his haters in line. Run the show now kid, rule by fear.

They treated you like shit when you were new, now it's your time to rape and pillage these motherfuckers.

Cmon man. DeCastro is first and foremost a radio executive. if Lil Danny and Arnold Drummond are killing the ratings the books theres no way he breaks that up just to give his buddy a job. This wasn't just finding a place for his friend. They were getting beat by their competetion , the show itself by all accounts wasn't good nor heading in a positive direction. The fact that Mac was available maybe made the decision to end that abortion easier but certainly wasn't a contributing factor.

When the ratings started sinking like a stone, did Mitch at any point try to steer the show back on track or did he benign-neglect them into this to keep more of his fingerprints off the failure? If Mitch had tried to instill some radio discipline into Jason, would Jason have listened?
