Beardown to the SCORE 10 years ago. They laughed. They didn't believe it. They didn't know the force and power. They should have. Here we are today.

Most ppl get news and entertainment off their phone and internet.

It would be smart to pay attention to sites like these for a program director.

At least the one at the score seems to have gotten with the times.

Have they? Sure they have streaming and thank god they mostly use texts and experts over actual callers, but what else has changed? Its still the one or two host format mostly dominated by Bears or NFL coverage. The "regular guy" conversation of the score through the mid-2000's is mostly gone. Its been replaced with NFL experts (and Hub, unfortunately) and gambling / fantasy experts.

Just because they stream doesn't mean they have used it to their full potential. The reality is they could have multiple streams, each focused on different topics with its own advertising. While Mac was right that there were only 12 positions or so for hosting, its only because they limit themselves.

this is a good thing, listening to "regular guys" .. aka idiots, giving you their opinions on how someone played or what happened or what would happen in the next game was "fun bad" (but it got old very quickly)

Boers and Bernstein made a living out of having those guys on to expose themselves for the idiots they were

I guess you were fan of those "play Mac Gowan" phone calls. I was not.

Personally, I'm interested in the opinions of national analysts on local sports teams.. That's why I always loved Billick on B&B

I also prefer him 1000x over Joey from Elmwood Part, Mikey from Hegewisch.. etc etc etc

that's not to say there weren't intelligent and observant callers to the shows.

There were.. but not many.. There were several black guys who called Boers and Bernstein on a semi regular basis who always had intelligent and informed commentary. There was one guy on baseball (handle/moniker escape me).. etc.

anyways, it got better with time from the earliest days of the Score.. as a kid I remember hearing "the voice of the "super dumb" fan and wanted to break my skull against a brick wall.

it was the earliest form of social media.. giving platform to the stupid. lol

Alright SID, let's take it easy, here. You parlayed Baseball Reference's Play Index tool into a sound bite on a radio station. You didnt exactly make breakthroughs in number theory on the twin prime conjecture, either.

Absolutely. Everyone who ever listened to Steve and Garry knew it instantly. Stan's baseball thoughts range from good to not horrible.

I would not be happy knowing I played a role in anyone getting fired.

That's just because you haven't reached the level of crazed obsession that Beardown has. Depending on your life goals, this could be good or bad.

Great job, you took two flawed shows and turned them into two unlistenable shows.

More like another white radio has-been gets his last flail at influence and will be fired for it by valentine's day.

The only hope is Mac's voice returns and they are interesting during Bears season. I don't think I'll listen until then. Wonder if this format will make it past Xmas.

Bernstein and Goff was completely unlistenable, it was an abortion of a radio show. That piece of fucking trash show made the remarkably bland Waddle & Silvy show feel like transcendent, must-listen radio in comparison. Bernstein's pretentious, holier than thou, important-radio persona combined with Goff's contentious personality and pedestrian broadcasting talent produced a god-awful show that was thankfully put out of its misery. Everything that has come after Bernstein and Goff thus far has been superior by comparison.
