Giving Lynch credit is not why most Bears fans think it was an 'overpay', not from what I've seen/heard anyway. Can't speak for the Madden GM's tho

Bears fans are mostly dipshits, to be fair.

I find that being a dipshit is a fair diagnosis for most people that are fans of any team, if we're being honest.

This is inarguable.

There was no need to move up one spot to grab Mitch, that's the problem. The Jets just gave up a lot to move 3 spots after striking out on Cousins.

I don't like paying Fuller that much money after he was dogshit until his contract year. Every QB in the league targetted him weekly, clearly they see some weakness there. Even if you are going to match Green Bays offer. Why not wait 5 days to show your hand?

Pace is just a dummy, only explanation.

Feel free to get profoundly fucked at the first available moment.

It was a molehill that became a mountain due to fan outrage being at either 0 or 100.

"Big" would be a slight overstatement, but I was rarely ever against him.

Rooting for the Bears isn't about wrong or right or who you backed and when. It's about living with yourself as hope dies on an annual basis and starting all over again. I don't fault myself or anyone else for holding onto hope in the face of irrational thinking or criticism. I am one of those dipshit fans, for better or worse, but at least I'm not a self-congratulating cuntrag like most of the Bears followers that seem to plague this outhouse.

The unnecessary move up was bad, Glennon signing was bad( Foles, Keenum got less than half) Many moves by Pace make me question whether this guy knows what he's doing. This is year 4 this season.

This is more than reasonable at this point. I agree, and have mentioned several times over the last couple seasons that he doesn't seem to have a plan in place. And if he does, he doesn't seem to understand the proper way to execute it.

It wasn't an overpay in the first place. A nation of Madden GMs waits with breathless anticipation to fellate John Lynch for every "fleecing" he pulls off.

It was an overpay because the worst case scenario was Watson.

Even after (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is inducted into the HoF it will still be a dumb trade.

Well Pace is mostly bad. That's why in year 3 he is trying to fix many issues in free agency.

Jonathan Hankins, a 3-4 tackle, was released by the Colts. Wouldn't mind the Bears bringing in someone to spell Goldman if they still have a lot of cap space left.

Two ACL injuries, both non contact, before his 23rd birthday. Watson may be great but the writing is seriously on the wall.

Mahomes? Who fucking knows. Seriously.

Watson played great until he blew his knee out. Until he proves he has two knees and is good at football again, I don't think that's much of an argument.

Mahomes is a great prospect and I'd be jonesed if he was a Bear, but he's not. He also hasn't proven shit (yet).

You can call this a "questionable" deal, a "debatable" deal, a "controversial" deal. But a "terrible/bad/etc" deal?

That's simply not correct. It's rock-hard determination to be a pessimist and entrenching yourself to be on the right side of the equation down the line, which the Bears have so often found themselves on the opposite end.

And I don't mind you singling me out. I'm a pretty contrarian voice for this franchise around here, I'm well aware, and everybody thinks I'm wrong just as I think they are wrong. C'est la vie.

So when do the Beats have a winning record? The Bears have been pretty horrible since Lovie was fired. Why exactly should we be optimists on them?

The Bears could get twice what they paid for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky right now. Browns would probably give up 1 & 4 for him.

A young QB who looks the part, can collect an NFL check without being a retard, doesn't get hurt and wins over a locker room as a rookie assuages so many fears that you just cant rule out in a draft pick. Even if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky crashes and burns on the field next year he's bought himself a long career in the NFL as someone will always look at his rookie year and think they can capture that potential.

Mahomes OTOH, nobody knows what he'll look like in a huddle and whether teammates will respect him. And as for Watson, the NFL doesn't abide guys who cant stay healthy. I dont know what percentage of NFL QB's even survive their rookie year with their prospect status in tact. Look at Paxton Lynch, or the many like him, he's just fading out into oblivion never having even seen the field (at least in a meaningful way).

The Jets just sold off 4 picks in the top 50 to get a crack at the third best QB in this draft. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is way ahead of any one of Rosen, Darnold, Allen or Mayfield as a prospect. He'd get 1 and 4 easily.

He wouldn’t get the 1 alone. Not even close to it.

QBs are like cars. Depreciate significantly in value the moment they’re actually taken. When they play as poorly as Mitch did their rookie year that depreciation is even more significant.

Mitch would probably get you a high 2nd rounder tops right now.

Uh I would say the #2 overall pick from the year prior who had definitely the best 2017 season of any rookie QB goes up in value a lot. His season was like 95th percentile outcome. All that matters for rookie QB's is that they get reps, don't drown (like Peterman or Kizer), stay out of trouble and stay healthy (this eliminates Watson, btw).

It is entirely likely that at least one of the four highly drafted QB's will be a non-prospect this time next year like Paxton Lynch. On top of that it is very possible that none of them make it through their rookie years healthy, poised and not having thrown more INT's than TD's in their career.

If one of them makes it through having a 2018 identical to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's 2017 you will see the front office of that team about course on the entire franchise to build around that guy the exact way the Bears have this offseason. Next year (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky ascends, and at that point no cadre of draft picks pries him from the Bears grasp.

Rfdc’s homerism pales in comparison to yours.

Mitch sucked this past year. He was awful across the board. Maybe he gets better this year but you’re definitely wrong if you think he has more value now than he did a year ago.

He didn't suck last year. He played with bum receivers and he still only threw 7 interceptions and completed 60% of his passes. The kid is mobile and can make every throw and he's a natural leader.

Completing 60% of your passes is a bad thing, not a good thing.

He was like 30-35th in the league in most significant passing categories. He objectively sucked last year. The only positive spin you can put on it is what rick did - say it doesn’t matter because a lot of really good QBs also sucked as rookies.
