this seems to be getting lost and giving B and G fans their typical position of perceived intellectual superiority in the discussion of the show changes. It was almost entirely about tone and attitudinal shift towards their consumers.
You're right.
But the "tone and attitude" that you talk about were tied into the "Social Issues"
The "Fuck you" radio was always done by B&B. But Boers never jumped in at the end. He let Bernstein handle it. Goff jumped in with "Fuck you" radio that, if Bernstein were honest, even shocked him.
I have no problem with Goff saying Kapernick is being black balled because he's black with a stance. That's fine. And I agree. And I also agree that rape and racism is bad. Like most people who aren't dumb asses.
But Goff took it further. If a caller disagreed with him with a stupid sports argument, Goff would make it about black and white. "Why do you hate me? There has to be some reason? We know what it is. C'mon, just admit it" Insinuating racism. The white dude just disagreed with Goff and he took it there. That was the problem.
Goff will never see it this way. He'll always be convinced that the evil white man fired him.
