Yeah, I agree about Soft Bulletin. The 4 I listed are what I would consider their holy trinity+1. All outstanding albums

No, I have no love for Yoshimi. I don't doubt others do but I don't really like the direction they went in, as in more electronic sounding and less rock. I think they kind of became caricatures of themselves, too concerned with being 'weird' and all that. There's one or two things I like on Yoshimi but I never listen to it at all

The Bad Days EP is pretty good too

Back in college... I could only afford one CD at a time. Now, I rarely find a band I like, so I jump in head first.

consider it bought if I like the others. I'll be honest with you... I'm 34 with 4 kids and my music discovery days are almost dead it seems. No time to go to a small venue to see a new band. All I have is my commute. I've listened to some of the new alt rock on Sirius (Left of Center and Sirius Alternative), but I feel like I'm 100 years old saying this stuff all sounds the same. Every now and then I discover something really original. It keeps me going. But I can't help feeling old... am I the same FUCKING guy who went mud sliding with Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell at the 93 Lollapalooza tour?!?

Im not sure if youll like this, but if you are looking for something new(er) and original, check out Matisyahu.

Welcome to the club. They're a great band to enjoy at a later "stage" (as I can attest).

Also, as Stinkfinger said, I wouldn't stop before you try The Soft Bulletin.

I'm under a rock... not under the ground. Hear d Matisyahu a bunch. Good stuff... mostly just King without a Crown. Reggae is fun to me, but loses its thrill after awhile.

Once you get past the fact that yes, he is indeed a Hasidic Jewish rabbi, there is nothing inherently unique or original about his actual music.

The song "Reggaejunkiejew" by Ween recorded in 1992 is far better than the real life version in this decade that is Matisyahu.

I would say it's best in small doses. I like Gregory Isaacs, the cool ruler, and a few others but I can only listen to it once in a great while
