Today’s game against the Cubs is on MLB network at 3pm. Lopez is on the mound. Going to have to tape this one.

Lopez bit by the big inning again. The biggest thing he has to work on this year is how to limit the damage.

They play the Dodgers on MLB Network again today at 3PM.

Moncada 2B
Garcia RF
Abreu DH
Davidson 1B
Cordell LF
Anderson SS
Sanchez 3B
Narvaez C
Engel CF

Gonzalez P

I think the lineup is very similar to what the Opening Day lineup will look like with the obvious exception of Castillo catching and Abreu at 1B and Davidson DH. It looks like there will be a Delmonico/Cordell platoon in LF.

Aside from Darvish, I don't think I've seen a guy give up as many shots after rolling nicely for a short stretch. Lopez has to have a sore neck today.

Your odd wish has been granted.

Shields is in mid-season form.

Sox fly to Charlotte next Sunday night. Getting close.

Fulmer/Santiago tomorrow.

Games on CSN (or whatever they call it now) on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 3pm.

I guess the goal for today is that Fulmer actually gets thru his outing and he doesn't have to finish his pitch count up in the bullpen. Not exactly what you want from your 5th starter 10 days before the season starts.

Not bad. Too many walks but at least he didn't give up the long ball. Definitely a start to build from.

Good day for Fulmer, but I think he was making the team as a starter no matter what.

Looks like Avilan and Santiago are lefty locks for the pen, with either Cedeno or Ross as the third.

I could see another team calling about one of the Sox lefties before Opening Day.

I actually was pissed when I turned on the game in the bottom of the fifth and wondered how they got there clean.

Giolito looks really good. Working fast, mixing his pitches and getting quick outs. Only 39 pitches thru 4 innings. He's looking like a wily veteran out there.

It’s so refreshing to see a pitcher use his brain out there. It’s not just about throwing in the high 90s with the intention of striking everyone out. If Giolito makes 32 starts, I have no doubt he’ll sniff 200 innings with an ERA under 3.50.

Cordell sent down, along with Robert, Volstad, and Scahill.

32 left in camp. Prediction for remaining moves:

Rodon 60-day DL
Option:Smith, Bummer, Infante
Reassign:Rondon, Cedeno, Skole
Purchase contract: Gomez, Santiago, Ross

Agreed, but they’re going to need innings from the pen with three guys going into their first full season in the rotation (hopefully), plus Shields and Gonzalez.

Hector Santiago will basically be another starter without starting.

I can’t even remember who their starters are:
Oh God. I just remembered Gonzalez. He’s gonna get rocked.

Very surprised they sent down Cordell. So they’re keeping Leury and Saladino over him. Huh

Both are out of options I believe.

On Cordell: “We think he’s a major league baseball player,” Renteria said. “We need him to get some more at-bats down at Triple-A. He impressed everyone in camp.”

Let em go. Neither is part of the future. Cordell may or may not be so let’s find out.

when you keep 13 pitchers the couple of bench guys have to be able to play virtually every position.

Can he play 3B regularly? I know he was touted as being able to play corner IF.

He was sent down so Engel can definitively prove he cannot hit MLB pitching

He’s an OF. He can handle 3B in a pinch just like Davidson or Delmonico.

It's really that that big of a deal. It's more important to keep the arms healthy in the rotation that carry him. And when Engle is hitting .201 on May 1, someone else will get a shot.
