That is literally the most condescending post I've ever read on the topic.

If you meant to do that, well done, though.

I know it's very condescending. Today. But in due time, feelings will change.

But don't act like people are mean or wrong for calling out an 18-year-old who is actively campaigning to take away one of people's rights and is doing so in such a condescending manner. His experience was awful, but it gives him no better argument than anyone else. One of my friend's dad died of heart disease when we were young, but I didn't seek out his advice on cardiovascular health.

But it seems to me that he would have special insights many of us could use.

I was referring to leash's friend's father.

I should've been more clear.

Personally, I'd like to hear Hogg weigh in on--and perhaps help define and shape--fourth-wave feminism. I also wonder what clarity he could bring to the mess that is the Olympics and help calm the Sino-Uruguayan tensions that could destroy us all.

He wouldn't have special insights either.

And Bob's posts that you're agreeing with aren't serious.

Anyway, let's not argue this morning. I logged on to see if anyone threatened to murder anyone, and I wasn't disappointed.

Wait! Mrs. Road Rod makes you change clothes for a casual meal with savages AND watch the Bachelorette?

I'm crushed.

Agreed on Hogg and all the Parkland kids including the token Conservative Kyle whatever his name is.

You haven't listened to her then. She was terrible during the CNN town hall. Yelling at the crowd for not letting her destroy the NRA spokesperson. I appears that others see it as well, but they come off as excited for the opportunity rather than somber or in mourning.

i work with jr highers and high schoolers regularly. even the smart high schools have 0 practical and experiential intelligence. only componential.

i think its fair to be critical of their opinions within the construct of their naivety. an opportunity to correct. to lash out critically at a teenager in my experience does not lend to much change. only fuels the fire. i think its best to do what we generally do of teenager opinions. listen then ignore and move a long which seems to be what the FL legislature did.

lying POS wasn't even in the school at the time of the shooting

from CBS interviews

" DAVID HOGG: On the day of the shooting, I got my camera and got on my bike and road as fast as I could three miles from my house to the school to get as much video and to get as many interviews as I could because I knew that this could not be another mass shooting."

I think he meant after everyone got sent home, he went back to get footage and interviews.

most high schoolers would claim themselves liberal, because at that age you feel like everything is against you and you want to rebel or revolt against something. then, you get older, and learn how the real world works and how politics and things really impact and can fuck you over and you find yourself a little less liberal and more likely to feel conservative about things. at least i did.

Either he didnt go to school that day or his first instinct after his school was attacked was to begin attention whoring at the scene of a massacre. Neither are good. This kid is evil.

He's a well-meaning kid who has been told his whole life that he's destined for greatness and is acting accordingly. He also happens to be very telegenic (Emma Gonzalez more so because she's an androgynous person of color, the media can't get enough of her look) and the media wants to make him a star because they want America tuning in to see what the angry cheekbone boy is mad about today. It's the Ronan Farrow cycle all over again.

CNN, Bill Maher, and every Sunday show want to put you on TV and make you the face of a generation; do you say no?

This guy has bad ideas but I'll still take him over the highly paid adult that said in all seriousness that the solution to guns in schools was adding significantly more guns to schools and proud gun owners around the country continued to support his organization and in some cases actually increased their donations!

I wonder if there was the slightest bit of embarrassment when S-D suburbanites stood shoulder to shoulder with inner city Chicagoans and denounced their inability to feel safe in their community.

Anybody going to rip on the little douche who Fox keeps parading out challenging Hogg to a debate who will fold like a card table if Hogg actually accepts? No? Shocking.
