11 teens die every day as a result of texting while driving.
According to a AAA poll, 94% of teen drivers acknowledge the dangers of texting and driving, but 35% admitted to doing it anyway.
21% of teen drivers involved in fatal accidents were distracted by their cell phones.
Teen drivers are 4x more likely than adults to get into car crashes or near-crashes when talking or texting on a cell phone.



We should seriously consider create a law prohibiting those under the age of 21 from owning a cell phone. We could be saving 11 teenage lives a day with this simple restriction. No one really needs a cell phone. Just about every one of us on this board didn't have one until we were at least 21.

I can't imagine anyone not wanting to save 11 teenage lives a day.

I've said this for 15 years, billboards are legal because the srate gets a piece of dough.they are solely on highway roadsides to get your attention.

Texting is real bad, it was fine when you could talk on the phone..the laws have made it worse..everybody is texting n hiding tbeir phones n looking down.

My future mother in law insisted we get one for our cross country trips. I think it had 40 minutes a month on it or something. Maybe 100. Kept it until just before my daughter was born and got a new one then. Hated that phone. I think the 40 minutes cost as much as we pay now if not more.
