Everyone who marched yesterday had a right to do so, just as I had a right to go to the outdoor gun range and enjoy my vintage 1943 Mosin-Nagant 91/30. You can pick up one of these great pieces of history for under $200, but it may need some restoration work. That rifle may be one of the few good things that communists ever made.

It's amazing how we can exercise our rights in this country.

What about the rights to an attorney?

The criminal defendant must be at the risk of imprisonment. If the defendant is not at risk of imprisonment, then there is NO RIGHT to an attorney in a criminal prosecution, despite the fact that the Sixth Amendment guarantees the right to an attorney.

Although this is somewhat different from the straight forward right to a jury trial.

The intent of the original right to attorney, is that the state could not deny you an attorney, not that the state HAD to provide you with an attorney.

Amazing how these rights morph and change over time.

Strange right, JLN you dipshit shit bird?

It is indeed fascinating, and I'm sure I would enjoy learning from you much more if you weren't such a jagoff.

Knowledge does not inure to the stubborn.

Except stubbornness doesn't have anything to do with this. You asked if I was aware of something, I said no and asked you what that something was, you then kind of explained it while calling me a "dip shit". I wasn't stubborn at all, I genuinely enjoy learning about these things, and asked you about it honestly, you're just such a prick you seemed to have not noticed, or cared.

Yeah, agreed. Could have accomplished my ends without name calling.

Apologies.

I agree that you're a fucking asshole.

Do you know understand, after I educated your ass with real knowledge, that the right to a jury trial, as guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment is violated more times in our modern criminal justice system than it is respected?

I guess I am asking, you understand the concept of facts?

Ready to talk about how many times the right to an attorney, as guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment is violated?

Here is a hint, it is millions of times a month shit bird.

You really come off as clever and insightful when you call names and can't get two words into a reply without misspelling a word ... never mind needing a comma after 'Sixth Amendment' not once but twice or needing the word 'do' after "... asking, you ...". Additionally, 'shitbird' is either a closed or hyphenated compound word, not an open one.

I am neither being insightful nor clever. I am just reciting facts and basic con law.

You know this is just a goofy message board right? I mean that is what this is, a fun message board. Misspellengs, grammar, etc is what it is. Nice to know you are the guynwasing bandwidth on commenting on a misplaced comma.

Not for nothing but I was not drafting the SixTh aMendmen, just explaining it.

Was any of my substance wrong? No.

Go away if you are not adding any content.

The people who marched also likely applied for permits, abided by legal restrictions of their rights, and understood that their rights have some caveats.

It's amazing how we can have well thought out and rational encumberances on our rights and not see them taken away.

The slippery slope argument is for dunces.

Also you love violence, sorry you have to find out in this setting, but eventually you and a therapist will come to the same conclusion.

The only person on this board (besides Chas) who needs therapy is you:

Seriously, you are not mentally well, go get help. Your family should not be around someone who is so quick to anger. I sincerely hope that for your sake and theirs, you get help.

It should be a rule that you have to read your post out loud before you can post it. For kicks, try it with some of One Post's posts.

I haven't seen much objection to the real issue with the teens' platform, which is that they want to give police free rein over mental health records. Lots of unintended consequences there. But mostly dudes are just terrified that someone might stop them from having sex with their guns.

Can’t we just paraphrase the abortion slogan for guns? If you don’t want a gun don’t buy one.

The rule doesn't apply to you until you threaten to "school" someone on an amendment.

One Post is one of the best posters on this board per capita. Takes unpopular stances and you never get the feeling that he is being disingenuous with his posts.

He also is well informed.
