Wasn't very subversive in the later years unless Sidney was on.
yeah i always appreciated a sidney appearance but alda really took that show in too "serious" of a direction toward the end. the episode that always comes to mind is the dreams episode. it almost feels more like a "twilight zone" episode. that in and of itself is pretty creative but the show otherwise would just be really dour in mood.
winchester still made the show watchable to the end.
