I don't know how Stoneman Douglas calculates GPAs, but at my high school, honors/APs were worth an extra .5 up to four times, so the best you could do was 4.286 by acing seven classes with four honors points but not acing an eighth course, which lowered your GPA from a study hall (this Brane Genious math is why Badger could never lead a movement). But if they do 5.0 for APs as some schools do, then I guess 4.2 isn't that impressive at a school where everyone's academically redlining all the time.

I've mentioned this before, but in my wife's time her school didn't offer additional points for the AP classes and she was in a lot of them. She got straight A's with the exception of a single B. A guy in the remedial program got straight A's and was valedictorian. Insult to injury, one of the guy's buddies also got straight A's and was salutatorian. So my wife didn't even get to sit on the stage. She's still butthurt about it over 30 years later.

My high school did not have weighted GPA either, which led to my graduating class having 8 or 9 valedictorians, with about half of them never even stepping foot in an advanced class.

Where's the Andrew Clark mult talking about Brian from The Breakfast Club taking shop class thinking it would be an easy way to maintain his perfect GPA only to fail a project?

You remember that nerd's busted elephant lamp? Just kidding. After spending a Saturday in detention with Big Bri, we're good buds now.

Why can Hogg not be in a Yearbook from Cali? His family transferred in 2015 so he would be a sophomore. So he would naturally be in the book there, find the book from 15 and see what year he is listed in. Solves all the problems. The issue I am having with him is the convenience of his being in the right place at the right time and for CNN to know to grab him when they did. Plus,I heard one of the student speakers use a term from the march in Washington on the news use a term that generation would never use"rewind the tape" ,they have no idea what that means. Hogg and the Gonzales girl are at the least being used by others. Either knowingly or not, I can tell you this they are being coached. Follow the money. Hoggs father was a FBI how in a few short years did he become a multi millionaire? His Linked in profile says he was working for a company called cubic simulations systems while he was also employed at the FBI. This needs to be looked into. A govt employee working for a firm that does govt business is a nono.

Ah, there it is, the smoking gun: use of a colloquial anachronism, not a single one of those has ever persisted across generations in the history of the English language. Extra, extra, read all about it, chaspoppcap is a dumbass.

I want to make a deal with the anti-gun posters in this thread. If we can jettison Chas's comments and pretend his posts never happened, we will allow you to do the same with Baby Mac's posts. I think it's a fair trade.

You have to include Seacrest in the package and we can throw in a terrible poster to be named later.

most employees of the NSA/CIA/FBI are actually contractors. that same friend still technically worked for the CIA for years while paid by Northropt before he ultimately became a sole northropt employee.

Says the man who just said shaved head girl should learn about why her parents left Cuba, but loves the guy in the White House who wishes this was Cuba.

Good talk.

David Hogg probably shouldn't refer to himself as a survivor of the shootings.

Strike that. Fake news. Unclear, poorly worded statement from Hogg.

I know what you're saying -- that there wasn't a wound that he survived -- but what do you call people who were in a building with a mass murder (school, concert venue, office, wherever else we're killing lots of people in one place at one time these days) but weren't casualties in the strictest sense of the word? "Shooting avoider"?

No no... he said something that made it sound like he wasn't there when it went down but that was just a poorly worded statement from him. He was there, apparently, and is a survivor. Rather than delete my post like I didnt say it I decided to clarify my error later. I was wrong. Is that ok?

No not at all. Just pointing out your inconsistency. Although this is yet another thread crying about the Second Amendment. So I guess there is a 50 post barrier you have to hit before you feel your work is done.

Of course the 2nd is a topic I am very serious about. This topic meandered into that area. Of course i discussed it.
My work? Dude I'm down for the discussion on the topic any time it comes up, so if you think that's my work, well then yeah I suppose it won't ever be done.

Why? As a modest owner of modest firearms, surely the proposed regulations would not affect you.

Are there specific proposed regulations now? From the little I've seen regarding this I just thought it was a vague "guns are bad and shouldn't exist" march.
