On the eve of the season with everything but the possibility a fringe addition coming. What do you got?

95 wins

Lester becomes the 3rd or 4th starter per quality
Schwarber and Willy are monsters
Heyward is a bench player by the ASB
Bullpen/Morrow is lights out.

It is good to be a Cubs fan when the worst prediction is 87 and 90-95 is probably a lock. Hawk was on this morning talking about how good the Cubs are and maybe the Sox will be in a couple years. He thinks this coming decade might be the best for Chicago baseball ever.

96 wins

Cubs have the best starting pitcher and complete staff ERAs in baseball.
Russell gets traded in a move to beef up the team before the deadline
Cubs offense will have a season similar to 1995 Indians where almost all starters have OPS of over .800

Lets hope he is right. It would be great to have a stretch where both teams were good and how much fun would a cross town world series be?

my prediction is 94 wins.

102 wins
4th straight NLCS appearance
Dominant starting and relief pitching
Inconsistent offense
Bounce back year for Schwarber
Heyward will be awful
Zobrist will be better
Russell will be out half the year
I will end up liking Darvish alot
All of my predictions will be way off except this one
I will remain calm

I predict more laughable predictions like this.

They should win 90-92 games and the NL Central. No idea where it goes from there.

So after an unexpected, brutally disappointing first half of 2017, per you, you think the Cubs will win the same amount of games in 2018? Even though they upgraded the starting staff and guys like Russell, Baez, Contreras, Almora and Happ have one more year of experience under their belt?

Okay.

76 bumslaying wins in the division, providing fandom with a false sense of accomplishment and a first round exit from the playoffs

Offense will be good, but Cubs will have the most expensive RF with no production in MLB with Heyward and Zo sucking it up out there. Wouldn't be surprised to see Bryant get more playing time in the RF this year because LaStella might be more valuable than Heyward and Zobrist.

The best lineup

Happ CF
Bryant 3B
Rizzo 1B
Contreras C
Schwarber LF
Russell SS
Baez 2B
Heyward/Zo RF

Starting pitching will be good. Nothing outstanding. Chatwood will be better than expected. Bullpen will continue to be hit and miss and will end up being the achilles heel. Cubs sign Holland after the draft to try to prop it up.

Cubs win 96 games and return to the WS.

If Morrow can stay healthy and Heyward can get his head out of his ass offensively, this team should win 100+ games. Problem is Dodgers may also win 100 and Nats probably 110.

Dodgers will not be as good this year, but will still be in the playoffs. Nationals should be great. We will see how Davy performs after years of bench coaching.

So if the Cubs are good for 76 wins how many do you predict the White Sox will have?

the al central will give the nl east from the past few years a run for it's money for horrible division.

3 of the 5 teams will be actively tanking. woof

93, 92 wins.
We'll see a better season from lester but not as good as 2016.
I'm sure the starting pitching is fairly solid but my big concern is closer.

I almost never go over 92 wins for any team. To win more than that requires some good fortune.

Ill say Cubs win 91
