Ill say Cubs win 91

Cubs have averaged 97 wins for the last 3 seasons, and never went below 92 in any. They've improved their pitching from last season, and have improving position players getting more playing time like Contreras, Happ and Baez. Schwarber may also have a greater impact and Heyward is on the tightest leash possible. But a 91 win prediction? Alright.

Also, you've predicted the Cubs are second in the division with 91 wins. So you have the Brewers at 92 wins or above.

No, I have the Cardinals winning.

Cubs have also been pretty healthy the last 3 years. Like I said though, I just dont like going above 92 for any team. Too much has to go right.

Cardinals will be in 3rd place. Book it.

Anyway, replace the Brewers with the Cardinals and my point still stands. You're just pessimistic about the Cubs because you don't want to get your hopes up. But you don't have any problem going above 92 because you seem to be doing that with multiple teams, unless you think the Cardinals will have the best record in baseball at 92 wins.

Maddon fired.

Cubs have the best starting pitcher and complete staff ERAs in baseball.
Cubs offense will have a season similar to 1995 Indians where almost all starters have OPS of over .800
  Wow...

I was a hair off.

Baez .881
Rizzo .846
Bryant .834
Schwarber .823
Zobrist .817
Murphy .800
Then...
Happ, Heyward and Contreras were above .800 and faltered late.

Russell started more than murphy and .800 is not over .800

Daniel Murphy is the Cubs' starting second baseman. Do you disagree with that statement?

Semantics. Victor Caratini had more at bats as a Cub than Murphy did this year. Zobrist had 40% more innings at 2nd than Murphy did.

But hey if you want to grab at straws for your "all starters (regulars) with an .800+ OPS" prediction, go ahead.

We'll see a better season from lester but not as good as 2016.
I'm sure the starting pitching is fairly solid but my big concern is closer.

Not bad.
