Take a look at real estate in Brooklyn and Queens (and now even the Bronx).

It seems that most of the violent crime in the NYC area is now concentrated in CT and NJ suburbs rather than the city itself. For example, Bridgeport CT has some of the highest violent crime rates in the country. You will see similar data in northern NJ cities like Newark, Orange, etc.

Ban knives but carve out an exception for Indian restaurants. Those being the only place you can get decent food in London.
