If you dont turn in banned weapons you get fined $1000/day. Will they compensate you for your confiscated property? So they're making hundreds of law abiding people felons overnight. That sounds fair. I'm not sure that it's legal to confiscate property without compensation. This will surely be challenged. It will be interesting.

Just as a frame of reference, this law would ban most 9 mm handguns since most of them carry over 10 rounds.

There is no way this law survives legal challenges, especially with the fines levied against lawfully purchased firearms.

It's feel good legislation. It reminds me of the time Vermont decided to ban all frack mines in their state. And at the time of the legislation, there were no current or proposed mines. But they wanted to be at the forefront!
