When I first began posting regularly Some of the people that complain about "board" whatever were at war with the board's owner. It wasn't particularly pleasant to read that bullshit everyday but I forged on and never said a word about why. Why? because I had a choice either read it or don't read it.

Some of them were even banned. Think about that. What on a message board would lead someone to ban me? Probably nothing because it would never get to that point. When it came down to it this was bigfan's joint at the time and I respected it. Same with the 3 Wisemen


Flip to today and some of the same people i.e Frank bounce around from thread to thread looking for certain guys to pick fights with. He has fucked up every White Sox thread in existence with his petty one sided vendetta and not one person on here really has called him on it. I know pretty much what he is going to say before he says it. Tim Anderson aint shit Robin was a fucked up manager poster x is dumb and doesn't know shit about baseball. He is a virtual one note song with his trolling vendetta against certain posters. The Reason that he doesn't get called on it is because certain people are cool with him.

Bite me with the "ain't no biases" or biases are cool bullshit too. The race thing that some on here claim to want dropped yet just can't seem to stop referencing is a case in point. The only reason that the thread rolled along as long as it did was because some were loathe to call a guy out for making bigoted comments. Instead it became a referendum on me and my furthering of racism charges.

There were 20-25 posters willing to debate me on something that really isn't debatable. There wouldn't be many sociology classes or books that would deny that it was a bigoted comment. On MANY levels. But because we are friendly, either message board or otherwise then it was necessary to excuse, ignore and blame the messenger.


This isn't about whining which is something else I'm tired of. This is essentially a "whining" thread. Nothing more and nothing less. If you are concerned with "policing" the board then police the board. Call people out for bigoted comments when they are obviously bigoted comments. Call Frank out for incessantly trolling a guy that doesn't care to engage his bullshit.

To be honest I really only comment in NBA threads but the "whining" brigade even found ways to infiltrate that. Remember all of the dismissive talk regarding the "seriousness" of the NBA talk? It only came from those that constantly bash the NBA. This aint about no race shit either. To me it was off putting. The audacity of some to seek to actually have a "serious" sports discussion. What the fuck is that? It was even referenced in other sections too.

The board is getting better every day. The time between the Super Bowl and Opening Day has historically been tough. The Score changes and a problem free CFMB March Madness made this year more enjoyable than past years.

This community has always done a great job of policing itself and making the necessary changes. I have no doubt that will continue. Political posts about the president have dramatically declined over tge past 6 weeks and down about 75% year over year. They're generally in 1 or 2 threads so they're fairly easy to avoid if that isn't your thing.

We don't plan on banning anyone because we genuinely believe everyone adds something that has made this place special for nearly 2 decades.

So, uh, everyone have a firm grasp on what is ailing the board?

English language media is beyond saturated. we've been building to this for a while everywhere, not just the CFMB. In order to stand out viewpoints have had to become more and more extreme.

So around 4 or 5 years ago it was discovered that by obsessing over identity politics, a true American past time to begin with, publications could not only draw sycophantic followers but also outraged dissent. The latter fuels even more content, "LOOGIT THESE IDIOTS WHO THINK COPS ARE HUMANS" etc. Explains the weird fascination with artificial boogeymen like RUSSIA and NAZI's, two groups that have been lurking around the corner in this country for over 70 years.

This built up upon itself enough times over that the Trump blip occurred in revulsion, which has now sent shocked and confused liberals into the longest and most intense temper tantrum in the history of human politics. So here we are, everyone is REALLY mad at each other online. Its become unbearably toxic to the point where it might honestly be time to shut it all down (not CFMB, the whole internet...I know it wont happen but its the only way out).

If you're wondering why I freak out about shit so much despite it not being that serious of an 'offiline' problem. Well in and of itself all this wouldn't be a problem, but the rage and anger from the left is pulsating and every summer seems to flirt more and more with real world violence. The natural, cyclical nature of democracy will bring them into power again. Whenever that happens the retribution against groups seen as responsible for Trump is going to be merciless and swift. The language being used by the left in the "you're a fucking white male" context is clearly dangerous. That rhetoric's social acceptance is absolutely the most obvious and telling precursor to violent oppression. So yea, that's why I'm worried.

I will say the last time I was here was well before the 2016 election, and it was a shark-tank kinda vibe but not unfriendly. Just smarmy, shit-giving, ball-breaking, but ultimately good-natured.

These last few weeks I've been back, the bad feeling is almost 98% tied to politics. 2% related to the Score shakeup.

It's weird. I always felt like most people here were a very tight knit group. Now everyone seems to be identified by their politics, and countless threads are begun to incite and/or obviously are set to derail into political fuckfests.

I'm of the opinion that there's no place for it on any good message board, and I personally forbid it at my board for very good reason.
