We will probably die from it. But the government needs something to keep life expediencies no higher than they are now, because today's taxation system can't handle a bunch of 110 year olds on Medicare. So what the hell.

With the current population explosion and climate change, GMO is the only way to ensure feeding everyone...I'd rather die of cancer than starving to death.

Just notice how those who are staunchly anti-GMO are also anti-vaccine and often buying into BS theories like chemtrails. To be against GMO's is to be anti-science.

GMO is one of the great advances of human civilization.

That doesn't mean that all types of modification is good but we should concentrate on those rather than a reason for a company to print "non-GMO" on the box and charge an extra two dollars for it to uneducated middle class people who think they are eating healthy because Whole Foods told them that it's more natural to eat crops that have been engineered for hundreds of years by farmers rather than in a lab.

No. I am extremely anti GMO but strong feelings on vaccinating!

Both are products of science and have undergone heavy testing in both laboratory conditions and the real world, so why trust one but not the other?

I wouldn't go that far. There are some things about GMO that still should be considered questionable, but those things need their own category as the large majority of GMO stuff is great for the world.

The problem isn't GMO seeds themselves. The problem is GMO seeds combined with globalization of agribusiness/uniformity of seeds/crops and the efforts by GMO seed providers to stomp out non-GMO seed strains in the normal course of the agricultural process. Diversity is a good thing in biology. Take away diversity--everyone on the planet using GMO seeds for our food supply--and when something goes wrong, the result is global loss of crops, not just a localized loss.

I started a thread a bit ago calling GMO critics douchebags so I’d say that sums it up well.
