Are there any other Red Letter Media fans here?

They are probably most well known for the Plinkett reviews, but I've honestly found their Best of the Worst videos to be some of their funniest content. Their Half in the Bag review series is decent as well, but I don't think it's quite to the level of Best of the Worst.

Half in the Bag has kind of gone downhill, but Best of the Worst is fantastic. I've watched through all of those a couple times over. Terrific shit. All the gimmicks are great, too. Wheel of the Worst, Plinketto, etc.

Wheel of the Worst episodes are probably even funnier than the actual Plinkett Star Trek/Star Wars reviews

The Plinkett stuff is a nice gateway to kind of see if their humor is right for you, but it also is excellent for better understanding how to criticize films for the right things: Character development, writing, casting, and the importance of direction's impact on the whole production.

The only times I don't really dig BotW is when they have guests on that aren't regulars. Max Landis, that one samurai movie director guy, etc. The VFX guys from Canada are terrific, and I wish Wizard was on more.

The Nerd Crew is fun, but I think they're running out of jokes for it.

How long until the Last Jedi gets the Plinkett treatment. Ghostbusters 2016 had me rolling.

I enjoy Half in the Bag if I've seen the movie in question.

I tend to agree, but when they had Landis on they watched Double Down which is a masterpiece of narcissism.

RLM is great. Chicago guys, too.

Are they? Rich might be, but I thought they were Milwaukee through and through.

Jay grew up in Rockford, Mike went to Columbia, and I think Rich is from Orland Park (you can see him wearing a White Sox hat in one episode). "Chicago guys" might be a stretch, but there's definitely a Chicago connection.

been watching some Half in the Bag lately. "Thor: Ragnarok" was pretty good. Had no idea about what they did with "Halloween" last October and just watched it. Culkin really stretched himself out during August-December last year. And it was awesome.

watching the "It" HITB now.

there's a strange feeling i have where i feel like i'm watching a hipster version of what Siskel & Ebert would be now. but it is still entertaining and probably the closest thing we get to actual film criticism.

What I love out of them is they are self aware (The nerd crew hype parody vid3os) of themselves and youtube film criticism as a whole AND they have an education in actual film making.

Great reviews. Feel like they are still just under what I would call well known.

Having Culkin in BotW was perfect. He seems like the perfect person to go and join that group for a few days.

Also, holy shit at a picture of child Rich Evans being shown on Ellen as "Dick the Birthday Boy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld-aisAWtmw

I will. In the meantime, check out their re:View of Freddy Got Fingered. Very interesting reinterpretation.

Check out their Jack and Jill review.

That HitB episode is the perfect dissection of Adam Sandler's entire career.

In some ways I admire the fact he has been tricking people to shell out $8 a ticket to go watch fast food commercials. He literally got away with that scam for 15 years.

Bird Box review is up. Mike and Jay give the movie the review it deserves.

The Star Trek stuff is always great as you get the sense Mike has always cared more about Star Trek that Star Wars. I mean his first Plinkett reviews were for the TNG films so he really hates it when Star Trek disappoints him.

the podcast they did with bunny ears was great; it cracks me up that mike's guilty pleasure is "ghost adventures" because my friends and i watched that for years. and the "dick the birthday boy" story is always great.

only thing i'm not a fan of really on RLM is "best of the worst". it's basically a rip off of the found footage festival and the commentary is mostly rich laughing. i'd rather just watch the actual videos (like "hawk jones").

Stories of them trashing Rich's grandmother's house are always funny

They seem like they would be fun guys to run into.

I'm heartened to hear from the podcast that Rich is engaged. From what I heard, he had a rough upbringing so I'm glad he seemingly has some happiness.

didn't realize mike did such a great palpatine impression.

some of these are going to be scary spot-on i think. the time travel retcon thing is a dangerous but very plausible angle.
