I honestly can't believe they haven't postponed until tomorrow.

Snow and 35 today vs Sunny and 47 tomorrow? That's a no-brainer. Plus, this forecast has been set for days.

I'm kinda pissed off about it, actually. I have two guests bailing due to the weather.

Who needs two!

Worst time I ever had at a game was an April Cubs game.

We tried opening day for about four years in a row. But we got sick of drinking hot chocolate instead of beer. #snowflake (literally).

I am surprised too. Just awful weather to try to play, for the players as well as the fans.

I went in 14 i think to opening day. I’ve never been so cold. I decided at that point you would not see me at a ball game until May, preferably late May again and even then we better be in the sun as I’ve been in upper deck shade at Wrigley before in late May and needed a blanket. Went to the shop to get a blanket, everyone else getting sun screen.

Last time I went to opening day was in '96 against the Padres. Cold, windy, and watched from the 5th inning on at the Cubbie Bear.

I have Audi Club reservations pregame. Will likely be going back and forth.

I think that’s about the inning we waited for before we hit Goose Island.

Million dollar ballplayers should not play in this. Jason Heyward would be fine with me though. This guy has flubbed two plays and turned his head on a catch he did make. What is he good for??? Time to bring up Cogs!!

I've been to Opening Day several times, and many April games over the years. Unless I get prime seats, I generally pass on April home games now. Too old.

Is the field heated? If not, there is no way this snow melts in time for them to start at 1:20

Are you talking about that rocket braun hit to right yesterday? Heyward lost that in the lights at the last moment..did a good job to just catch that missile.

Exactly why they put an emergency off day after the home opener. Just in case. Great scheduling today.

Is it that bad in Chicago? I mean, is it huge winds or is it a blizzard or something like that? Not being a 'doze pricks can play in dis wedder' dope, I just don't know.

For April 9th, its bad. If this happened on March 9th, it would be somewhat normal.

I don't begrudge any MLB team for canceling a game due to this weather.

Much better for the players and fans to play on a dry field tomorrow when it is sunny and 47, than to have tried to play on a cold, wet day and risk injuries, when the next day was a scheduled off day in case of this kind of problem. I know.....Sux fans want to complain for some reason about how their team was able to go out and play (and lose.......again) today. But the games are meant to be enjoyed, not something like a vaccination that you just want to hurry up and have it over with. Tomorrow makes a lot more sense.

True, but I do begrudge MLB....the season should start May 1.
