for the first time in almost 15 years, i actually flipped on the new "Simpsons" episode last night. interestingly, it happened to be an historic one as it had a throwaway joke about the Apu controversy. and, as expected, it made a pretty accurate joke about how things that were funny decades ago can now be seen as offensive.

the episode was mildly amusing. it was all over the place, though. but again, some smiles here and there. no big laughs.

of course, it became news:

The character of Apu is much more developed than any of those characters.

Totally agree that this guy tried to make a name for himself by manufacturing a "problem" with one of the most popular TV shows of all time. Nice to see they essentially told him to fuck off. More people/business need to do that in these situations.

So I am not reading all of this. Did they really get rid of Apu? When? And if so do they not show old episodes? I have not watched Simpsons in a long time apparently.
