Well, that link is kind of new information. Goff never spoke about that. The way Goff told it at the time was that he called some restaurant asking for free salsa. Something like that. And they had some other Mexican restaurant as a sponsor. Maybe that was it. Or just asking for free food on the air is against radio laws. Whatever.
But I always thought there was more to it. That the "Salsa" thing was just the final straw. I think they had grown sick of Goff for other reasons and just used "Salsa" to finally get rid of him. Goff will always say it was about "Salsa". But there had to be more to it. Months and months of them getting sick of his ass.

but in that link i posted, one guy says his ratings down in ATL were good. Why get rid of a guy if he's bringing in #'s for the sake of getting rid of him?
