I think the goal was to make the fans respect Reigns by showing he's never gonna quit, but they failed to realize that the crowd didn't give two fucks about either of these guys.

Seeing rumors Brock went off script and was supposed to lose?

Told him to stay down or he'd legit beat him?

Any chance that's true?

Now t hat would be awesome.

I doubt it tho, they resigned Brock today from what I read.

I was pleasantly surprised with Rousey. She has picked things up really quickly and looked good. And I hate the ladies division.

Yea Rousey was good. So was Flair Asuka or whatever her name is. Rest was trash.

I'm going to choose to believe it was a reverse Montreal with Brock needing the belt for contract leverage. Brock legit opened up Reigns with the elbow and said stay down or I'll beat years off your life

Like MANY, you forgot the first match of the night, which was also pretty good.

You know that's funny. I got the free trial and ffd thru first two hours and missed The Miz. I thought show started with Flair Asuka. Started at 7 right?

As someone who hasn't watched in years this Roman Reigns thing is crazy. How long has Vince HHH or whoever been fighting the fans over this guy?

THEYRE GONBA LOVE HIM, GOD DAMMMMIT

Lesnar had already been resigned going into the final match of the night and when Vince saw the lack of crowd reaction to Roman - he called for Lesnar to win. He will likely drop it at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

I wish I knew what Vince thinks is ever going to change. Roman doesn't get much in the way of cheers in any of the non-smark crowds. Never has. The only time he's ever gotten over was for a hot minute during a Raw where he went against Vince to beat Sheamus. It took a few days but people realized they accidentally cheered Roman and it was never duplicated.

The bigger fundamental issue is they tried really hard to get him over as a heel last year with the 'It's my yard' stuff and it didn't work. Then he was starting to get over as a face with calling out Lesnar but then that momentum stopped.

Dave Meltzer guessing as usual.

That may have happened, but I doubt Meltzer knows.

Did he get over? I mean, they stopped booing him for a minute but I chalk that more up to being tired of Lesnar.

Nobody likes Roman Reigns. You can't force them.

He's like Lex Luger.

You can try and push him as the next big good guy, but people ain't buying it.

This is a great comparison. God, I hated Lex Luger.

It's too bad because hearing Roman talk on podcasts and stuff, he's great and really engaging.

He was super over in the SHIELD. If he was the one to break up the Shield and had a nice heel run, people would've turned him by now.

Having the stupid Superman Punch finish doesn't help either.

The network is great. This era kinda blows.

Gorilla: look at that devious kisser, jess (mr. fugi)

Jesse: ya know what I love Gorilla? Watching Hogan pose WITHOUT the belt.

I dont even need to watch, its better audio than anything on the SCORE

The Luger experiment only lasted maybe, what, 2 years? It was obviously a way different context, as you had two of the greatest ever in Michaels and Bret Hart primed to explode, so you could more comfortably pull the plug on Luger's All-American bullcrap.

With Reigns they're not even willing to rebrand or repackage him. They're stubbornly trotting out the same guy, entirely unchanged from the Shield days, theme and all, and in order to get a pop the only thing that works is to have him call somebody a bitch.

I thought the bubble would burst after last year, but clearly they're just going to keep booking him into the main event until Vince is dead.

Reigns has personality like crazy, man. He's funny, good sense of humor, down to earth dude. Yet the badass roman thing is so shallow. The Superman Punch is cool but it has gotten really, really tiresome and corny. The Spear isn't innovative either, but at least he makes it look good. I still think he could benefit from having a better finisher. I wish more guys utilized variations of power bombs.

Yes, but then Luger went to WCW (again), and was at the top of the card from the first Nitro until the place folded. And he literally killed Miss Elizabeth.

An example to a lesser extent is The Usos.

They were the generic babyface team that had run it's course and was going nowhere. They changed it up from mini Islanders and turned them heel and let them be themselves. They got over and the crowd that was indifferent to them before now were invested.

Yeah, but it was WCW...they were awful and dumb.

Even Luger booked perfectly would still be terrible.

Bad in the ring
Bad on the mic
Bad in the locker room
