I'm kind of surprised we didn't have a thread already for this, but damn is the story depressing.

10 kids, 2 coaches, 1 bus driver, 1 volunteer statistician, and 1 radio announcer, all gone. The rest of the kids seriously hurt, some even paralyzed.

Yeah, ran a stop sign somewhere in godforsaken Saskatchewan. Driving in the Prairies seems especially perilous because of how tempting it is to floor it through all that empty space.

And of course there’s always a Julie type to question the outpouring of sympathy and GoFundMe money because what about minorities ( not to mention there were 2 females and 7 Nations member on board ) She’s also now playing the liberal I’m a victim card because of all the social media backlash she’s getting about it . I hope she’s making 20% less than her male colleagues !!

The outsize response to this is less a matter of Teh Patriarchy and more the insularity of the hockey community. Hockey people love to show the world that they're there for other hockey people.
