Happ certainly hasn't been "good" out there this year. His range is extremely limited.

Other than Bryant and Zobrist (which probably won't last), this team can't hit for shit.

Terrible take.

Contreras, Baez, Almora, Bryant, Zobrist, Happ, have all been hitting well for over a week now.

I don't know whether the ESPN pitch trax can be trusted, but this is the type of at-bat that infuriates me as a baseball fan.

Strike 1 looking
Strike 2 looking
Ball 1 (pitch trax has as a strike)
Ball 2 (pitch trax has as a strike)
Foul
Foul
Ball 3 (pitch trax has as a strike)
Home run (on a pitch grooved down the middle as the pitcher was getting no calls on the previous three called balls)

I meant the players in today's lineup (I'll give you Cone-treras otherwise). Happ and Baez can't hit consistently.

I have rainy Saturday. Might head down just to take the kid to the Audi Club.

Ike on Saturday night.

It's generally a bad idea to use the TV versions of the strike zone as they're not 'hooked in' to anything ... Brooks Baseball and Fangraphs (PitchF/x) are something to view if you want really good data.

G-damn Cubs ... 6-1 now.

Agreed ...I was going off the webcast (not sure if that is also unofficial)

Yeah, was willing to give him a mulligan and off-season to regroup. Seems mentally shot.

Contreras is a very good hitter, Baez is a bit streaky but still was over .270 last year and he has power too. Not ready to give up on Schwarber and of course Rizzo is very good when healthy, which he usually is.
