Plus if he's not that bright, Dumbass will work unofficially (of course).

Btw, happy birthday to you and the boy!

They're going to come up with a few names and the baby will pick one out of a hat. All that left to decide is will it be a Cubs or Sox hat.

Thanks!

I've always had dogs, mutts as a general rule...except, now...the wife chose the current two. A great dane and a leonberger. They shit a lot.

Einstein is helping me out. I took him out for 20 mins and he did nothing. Not 5 mins after bringing him in the house he shit. Fortunately for me he shit on the training pads. Smart dog. Dumb owner.

What breed? By the looks the paws, he is going to be a big dog. Have patience. These first few weeks will be the worst. My wife and I was thisclose to getting rid of our Beagle mix about 3 months after we adopter her, but now she is the sweetest thing in the world.

it depends on the kids. if you pull mr rainbow marshmallow fluffkins out of a hat you are gonna be pissed.

we bought a female lab and it took probably a week to settle on a name with 3 daughters. her name is Dutchess and i call her dutch. i could live with that.

all our chickens have names and they are ridiculous.

He's an English Lab. Yeah he's going to be around 80 lbs. Other than a little whining at night he was great on Day 1.

That could be because he had to go outside. Puppies can only hold their bladders for a couple hours at a time.

you seriously can't figure out what breed that is from the picture?

Nas, welcome to the lab club, he's gorgeous!

I recommend joining the "for the love of yellow labs" facebook group. Lots of people posting about their labs with some good tips for training, raising, medical or anything else that will come up in your dog's life.

good choice going English. They're better than American IMO.

Glad to hear his first night wasn't too bad. I ended up sleeping on the floor next to the crate on Lionel's first night.

I stayed with my pup near his cage the first couple of nights. He was 7 weeks and was first time away from mother so it helped him
stop whining and crying and I could also hear him when he needed to go out in the middle of the night.

Get a regular ol' wind up alarm clock. The ticking at night supposedly helps them as it mimics the mother's heartbeat.

My last dog was 18 months old when we got him from the pound. I had to sleep on the couch next to him for a few nights until he (And my then very young sons) finally felt comfortable.
