yes i am torn about this. if i hear it i actually still like it but now as an adult i know the significance. But also the song I think has been polarized. All these fucking nazi's play it from what I've heard in their rallies. And because of that, the newer PC generation does their thing and says it's never should be played again. Maybe they're right.

ya exactly what i was trying to describe. Those boys flying that flag back then I don't really think knew what it represented. It was more of a cultural symbol of being a southerner.

But those days are over. Maybe it's for the best.

I lived in Atlanta for four years and never heard it once. But it is an urban area. Frankly, going outside the Perimeter(I-285) there scared the hell out of me.

You know I dont know if this is related but I've always thought about this too - Israel.

If Israel was created say 50 years before 1948, they would have conquered all the middle east , from the Mediterranean to the Arabian Sea, pretty much genocided the Arabs who'd would have faced the same fate as Native Americans, and nobody would have complained in the West.

But since we live in different times now, it's not allowed to happen as the world has gotten 'wiser'.

you know the establishment historians have been very nice to Robert E Lee. Even since I was a kid. Never understood it. They make him almost like a Northern Hero. Not sure why he gets a free pass.

Me either. No use for any of it. Just pointing out how odd the past was. We used to go to a Boy Scout camp in Michigan. It was residential like two weeks at a time. It was named wolverine south so Dixie was the emblem, song, flag etc. as a 14-15 Year old it was a blast. Black kids there too. Oh well different times.
