Don't get me wrong. I love Pizza Hut. Used to grab a personal pan on the way out of Target just because it was there.

It was the only non-McDonald's chain restaurant we had in my hometown. Great pizza buffet. Every kid's birthday party was a Pizza Hut buffet (so I heard...I crashed one of them).

But I was always dubious about their wings. Not a thing until the past few decades.

But, I don't hate them.

I'm much better at and prefer grilling. I think it is more fun and takes a bit more attention.

Cooking is more like a math problem. Just follow directions. But, it can be enjoyable too with a good recipe.

Now smoking....

Stupidly it's black Bacardi. Used to call it Nytol. But not tonight.

Just transitioned from Busch Light to Zacapa 23, not something ever typed before.

Same, until a couple Cajuns opened up a Poboy’s joint near us. I used to have the Pizza Hut foam basketball and hoop too. Dinner, breadsticks and TGIF when we got home. Those were the days.

Nice. How do you plan to cook them if not on the grill?

And when should I come by?

Hot and fast in an old cast iron skillet , draped in cheese, onions and shallots.

And whenever you want. But be forewarned, the south lakefront is a long ride from Kenilworth. And the youngest is already eyeballing the "extra" steak and bread.

Love cast iron.

My wife has done a thing with burgers where you place them on a couple onion slices and then broil them I believe, I'm sure it's on The Google Machine, and they cook perfectly. And you get some great onions.

I'm wondering if you could do the same with a smaller steak. Just typing out loud.

All this cooking talk should get Reason out here.

There’s an abandoned Pizza Hut building down the street from my work. It’s the saddest site because nothing can replace it. It still has the old design. A single tear every time i pass it.

That's how they make them in the original hamburger joint, Louis Lunch in New Haven

Catch.

The ceiling is low there but near the registers they were 20' high. I'd throw them up to kiss the ceiling, catch, throw em down on the peel and make a pie. At my peak I could go from dough ball in the tray to topped pizza in the oven in about 45 seconds. Shit pay, but a cool job. In a strange way, I miss it.

Damn, you either spent some time or you have a good-sized Weber. Kettle or a big-ol' gas version?

I have a classic Weber Kettle and a Vermont Casting gas and then the Oklahoma Joe smoker.

Cast iron is the shit.

Also, interesting experiment. Cut uncooked burgers in half, place cheese slice in the middle and cook.

Wife is watching Love Connection.

Just made an off hand joke that made her legitimately laugh out loud.

That has not happened in a long time.

My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark.

It'd be hard to verify you invented the burger.
