I just watched the Man on the Moon documentary about what an asshole Jim Carrey is.

I gave Milos credit for not just walking away from that trainwreck.

Yeah, I've seen it. I don't know how they didn't kill him. Thought The King was going to.

It was out of his control.

Yes, the clips I've seen of Kauffman are great. Eccentric dude.

I never liked Andy Kaufman. I was too young to understand what he was doing at the time.

Watching clips these days, I get it. But I was never a fan of uncomfortable humor and I think I'm biased by my feelings as a yout' growing up watching him.

I can appreciate his commitment to his bits. That is amazing. But, I'm not sure it is entertaining.

I don't know that I could agree more. I appreciate his commitment and deadpan ability, but I would never watch him for fun.

I compare it to something like Don Rickles. That's still uncomfortable but, deep down, you all kind of feel like you are in on the joke.

I never really got that with Kaufman and I think that was by his design. Kind of crazy but the closest he got to mainstream was the Mighty Mouse bit which was weird but pretty funny. But, on the whole, I think he didn't want people to understand. Again, I was probably too young to get it.

He was never performing, he was just that way. There’s a great line in the film when he’s asked whether he’s more interested in entertaining himself rather than an audience. I think Andy wanted the audience to be hardwired into his brain. But he just didn’t know how to let up. And that’s because he wasn’t a performer. I don’t think he was a genius, though. He just had no fear. And that’s admirable but didn’t always translate as entertainment. When he was on, though, he was hilarious.

I don't know that he was understood by an age group as much as he was understood by a certain personality.

I view Norm Macdonald similarly. A lot of people love him. I think he's okay, but I don't get the love.

I love Norm. The first time I saw the duffel-bag bit, I was hooked.

I haven't seen him lately but back in the day, I thought he was hilarious.

There’s two classifications for cliff divers. There’s Grand Champion, and Stuff on a Rock.

Amadeus sucked. Outstanding play--seen it several times over the years--but disappointing film.

You sound like Old Harold Delaney. You don't think that a cranky, Holocaust revisionist, wooden ventrilouqist dummy is awesome? Well, at least you did spell and capitalize correctly, so I will give you that.
