Yup. Can’t claim to be a workers rights guy in the same post you’re suggesting making it illegal to work harder than fellow employees.
You have to try really hard to turn "no overtime without pay" to "making it illegal to work harder than fellow employees".

No. I don’t at all. It’s completely antithetical to workers rights. You want to infantalize them.

I don't understand what you are saying. It's a workers right to perform overtime and not get paid for it?

Yes. Why is that hard to understand?

Getting paid for overtime has been fought for by workers for many decades. Are hourly workers infantalized?

I am a huge proponent of workers' rights. And the most important right to protect of all is the right to voluntarily agree to indentured servitude.

Most management and other similar roles don't even work a set number of hours. It would be impossible to quantify how many hours they work.

We seem to know how many hours working mothers are working.

So now a mom who puts in 40 hours is a better worker because she is more efficient than the guy putting in 60 hours.

When the guy from the Fire Department has already worked his 40 and gets called for a fire, he can just let it go to voicemail.

Firefighters get overtime pay.

I'm sure doctors don't. Should they not come in for the emergency surgery if they've hit their 40?

First Responders, doctors, nurses, and military personal are generally exempt from any sort of overtime law.

They earn a couple of bucks an hour as "call pay" when they are on call.

They would get paid extra for that in most cases.

It should tell you something that you had to misrepresent what is being argued in order to attempt to mock it.

What a ridiculous straw man argument. You are just presuming efficiency in this hypothetical instance that you created to support whatever you think you are arguing for at this point.

Make it illegal for him to answer the phone.

Rick, you need to lay off the smilies for awhile. Maybe we should outlaw those too.

How do you quantify the pressure that the owner assumes each day along with how much risk they assume as well?

There is a reason owners don't quit and become employees willingly.

Way to not answer any meaningful questions, misrepresent peoples arguments, and use smiley faces whenever those aren't working. People who work long hours just are not as efficient as moms work 40-hour work weeks.

WaitingForRuffcorn reminding me of his statement brought me to this.
