I can't speak for Spiegs and marriage #3, but I can speak for getting married a second time around...

Considering my wife and I both have children, it was a tax HIT to get married, as we both lost head of household filing status, so that's no reason.

I was pretty adamant that I'd never get married a second time....I was perfectly self sufficient. Had my own house and perfectly capable of cleaning, feeding myself and all that. In my situation, I had started dating someone and things evolved to the point where it just felt wrong that she wasn't my wife....so....we got married. No religious, or tax reasons at all....just felt like the natural thing to do. I've never regretted it and am proud to eat crow on this one.

Thanks for posting that. I've been with my wife now going on 24 years and I don't know why she puts up with me, but I'm sure no one else would.

I don't know Spiegel nor was I fan of his show. No clue what his marital problems were in the past. I hope he finds happiness and figures it out this time. Divorce is too ugly to wish for anything else.

Never have regretted my second marriage. Often you learn from the first mistakes both parties made. First one lasted 5 (three more than it should have). Mrs.Scoot and I celebrated #16 in February. Good luck to him.
