Come on. HW wasn't a wimp. Guy was shot out of a plane and had to eject. Landed in the Pacific. Most American men today won't even walk up their ladders to clean their gutters.

Let's not sentimentalize Barbara Bush. Her husband was the war hero, the Congressman, the head of the CIA, the VP, the President. I'm sure she helped, but George did all that shit.

Checked wikipedia, Nixon appointed HW to UN Ambassador. It was Ford who gave him the CIA post. Wasn't Dubya himself not all that gung-ho about the idea of running for President?
