Maybe. I don't think so, but it shouldn't have mattered. The White Sox walked 12 A's hitters, and threw just 156 of 288 pitches for strikes. It's nearly impossible to win a ballgame when you pitch like that.

I didn't see it until right now and yes, that was a bad play. Got no jump on it....and there were two outs, I think.

He got a bad jump, twisted and turned several times and then pulled up before the warning track like there was any reason to play a carom in that situation

And for all the praises of his "great game" he started out 2-2 and went 0-5 after that. Not really a great game. One good at bat. Against the lowly A's and a 29 year old pitcher that would make Fulmer look like Cy Young.

Was on base three times, hit a grand slam, stole a base and scored 3 runs. A little perspective helps.

2-7 at the dish is a .285 avg and being on base 3 times out of 8 PA's is a .375 OB%.

That's not MVP level, but thats not a scrub either.

As noted he scored every time on base, and also homered. Bitch about strike outs, but they did not lose because of him yesterday. He's around .280 for the last week, and showing some signs of life.

Hi,

I have just signed up to this board and am a Sox Fan who lives in Southern Cal. I grew up in Chicago but retained my Chicago loyalty since moving. All but the Cubs that is.

I'm retired and for the last 20 or so years, I have coached baseball at the high school and travel ball level. A few of my kids made it to the majors and I have had fun tracking some of them as they make it to college and the pros. Arizona isn't far and a few times I go visit the Sox and other teams spring training camps to see some of them play.

Anyway, I look forward to talking baseball on this board and wanted to introduce myself.
