Too much of a tweener store to survive, not cheap enough or high end enough.

So.. when I was a kid I somehow misheard the carson’s, we are ribs jingle as Carson’s, we are sports. My folks took us to a Hawks game and on way back they told us we were going to goto Carson’s. My brother told me we were getting a football or hockey net or something and I fell asleep. I was kind of pissed when it was ribs.

Haven’t been to a Carson’s department store for years. I think I remember a giant statue outside the doors to the one at Stratford Square. It was a favorite of my Aunt to buy ugly sweaters for me through my youth.

What about Kresge's? I heard they really amped things up over the years. Called it KMart or something.

Seriously though, Amazon Prime is the Genghis Khan of retail. My daughter has stuff flying into her house daily. That security lock Amazon is pushing so they can deliver IN YOUR HOUSE? She's all for it.

Loved it when I was a skinny kid of average height. I could always find the tightest club gear.

I was curvy and of short stature so I was out of luck. I shopped at madigans, merry go round, express, and contempo.

If I need super trendy stuff Penneys is fine most of the time. I hope they don't go away. I miss the heck out of Fields.

Damn, not Merry Go Round. Lol

Got my first linen set up there. With the espadrilles I thought that I was on point.

Bruce Dern is a scion of one of the families. My former father-in-law and Bruce were on the New Trier track team together. Bruce went to Penn to run track but he met a girl who was into theater and started acting to hang around with her and quit the track team- or maybe he got kicked off. The next thing you know the man was killing John Wayne.

What can I say? We weren't all Schaumburg ian kids looking to drink pbr and Jagermeister whilst fumbling around in our Camaros and pickups. And end the night "rasslin"

Look ya goofy bastard we drove dusters. At least the rich kids did. I had '77 Electra. It leaked exhaust into the cabin.

Early Miami Vice.

Preceded by New York club gear.

Followed by a fusion including leather.

Time appropriate. :D

Hams. I kid... I was really a good kid and didn’t partake in these things. My Circle was either a Miller product or vodka.

87 Chevy celebrity wagon baby that had a check engine soon light that never went ou5 and a dented front end.

Ran track in those days, it worked. Especially in the Latin clubs. Even if I had to play Brazilian in a pinch.

I've never had it. My friends hit the Henny and Remy way ahead of their time.

Richard's Wild Irish Rose was the cheapo wine of choice on Howard Street.

Mad Dog had the flavors though. My friends wrote a ridiculous song about getting fucked up on Orange Jubilee.

The purple stuff is dangerous
Turned my spleen into dust
Now it follows real fine
Wonderful, like liquid sunshine
Orange Jubilee!

Weed, small amounts of quality liquor and brew were enough. The others would just wait for whatever awaited at the club. Including the acid laced water.

Bottom shelf for us was Brass Monkey and Gill's (never go flat) beer.
