Sad that the under .500 Cubs make you lash out at Carson Fulmer. Weak trolling.

They put him in a role where he can’t succeed. Move him to the pen and give him a chance to be really good.

They bought into the kid. They fell in love with his makeup and work ethic. It happens. Same thing the Cubs did with Schwarber.

I believe Keyser did see it from the day he was drafted.

You guys may be completely correct, but developmentally you do not make the decision that he is a starter and then cut bait three starts into a season. I think the first move in the rotation doesn't get made until Rodon returns.

I don't think he was speaking specifically to me. I'm not a decision maker for the White Sox......yet.

You cannot wait that long if Fulmer and Gonzalez continue to go out there and pitch duds every time they take the bump. If not, you are pretty much conceding two losses out of every five games unless the offense scores 9+ runs (which wasn't even good enough yesterday).

Gonzalez, 100%.

Fulmer, I am 50/50 on throwing him out there. Anything under 5ip is not going to cut it. Maybe give him to the all star break and make a decision to throw him in the pen?

If they are gonna lose, just develop guys and play for the best pick.

I hate to break it to you but this season is over.

Gonzalez will get better. He always has his ups and downs but lands somewhere near .500 with a 4 ERA

I like Fulmer's make-up as a pitcher. I think he has a chance to be good along with Lopez. It'll take time but Cooper is a very good coach for young pitchers and the Sox are fortunate to have him. Stevenson also is a good hitting instructor and really has his work cut out for him with quite a few players that I do not feel deserve to be in the major leagues.

"I believe Keyser did see it from the day he was drafted."

It wasn't hard to see he was a major project from day one. He broke a basic fundamental that for the life of me, can't figure out why no coach at any level didn't straighten out.....keep your eyes level. He jerked his head on release of the ball. When you are allowed that basic bad fundamental, it then becomes part of your foundation. So even though he no longer jerks his head, it was part of his foundation for years and years and doing things a new way is no easy task. I guarantee he no longer feels as comfortable and relaxed as he used to, and I guarantee he rarely feels in rhythm. Why he isn't in the minors working on pitching rather than getting torched in MLB, you have to ask Hahn. Maybe they feel Coop is the only guy to help him, in which case that is an indictment of the system.

I see no reason to keep Fulmer in the minors. Let Cooper work with the guy. I just do not think that Fulmer has a frail psyche. I think he is a tough guy willing to take coaching. Some guys are not blessed with that make-up and you have to coddle them more. Pitching to me has a couple of key elements. One, certainly is mechanics and Cooper is a master of mechanics as far as I am concerned. Another one is responding to pressure and making adjustments on the fly. That is kind of a laboratory experiment and comes with experience. And the third is balls and taking advice.

I may be wrong but that is how I feel about Fulmer.

"I may be wrong but that is how I feel about Fulmer."

The stuff is there and he added the Coop Cutter. But MLB is no place for a guy who 75% of the time, has no idea where the ball is going. If he can learn command quickly after getting part of his foundation yanked, all the power to him. But even an unfrail psyche can be beaten down by these fucking animals known as MLB hitters.

A lot of scouts called his pick a risky one. Not disagreeing with anything you said.

This is the Sox section, why are we subject to Caller Bob's awful baseball thoughts?

I would have put my awful thoughts in the Cubs forum, but I didn't want to bother you there.

Maybe we can mark the light at the end of the tunnel with the Fulmer demotion. Rotation at the end of this season could be Rodon, Kopech, Lopez, Giolito, and Stephens with Cease, Dunning, and Hansen pitching at Birmingham.
