Blu-ray will be the last physical form. I started buying/collecting a couple years ago. So many Blu-ray movies on Amazon are dirt cheap (except for brand new releases, just wait a year to buy it).

We "own" too many on comcast. I'm guessing we lose them if we ditch cable. Anyone know the deal on that?

yeah, I think Comcast would take them. Mine were from the Microsoft movie app that's on the Xbone. as long as I have Live, I have access.

I’ll buy movies from time to time. Usually after they’ve been out a while. I tend to be doing three or four things st a time when I watch so it will get repeated watching. Crap internet makes streaming touchy at times.

I guess this is where I'm closest to being a millennial. I haven't bought a movie in probably 10 years.

There will be no blue ray players or DVRs in 10 years. So I stopped buying it.

A couple of years ago I helped my Dad throw out all of his VHS tapes. I mean he tapped everything back in the 80s and 90s. He tapped fucking Bears games. And bought a lot of movies on VHS.

We threw out at least 300 tapes. Maybe more.

I imagine it's difficult to find stag films these days.

A friend's 10 year old just charged $500 worth of Fortnite crap on their account. I told my kids and asked what I'd do if they did that and one said that I would kill them the other said I would not let them eat for a month if they did that. They know.

They are gonna pull shit on me. I hope it doesn't cost me too much or damage them. That's all.

I buy videos on VUDU just because I hate not being able to stream something because it got yanked off a service. Occasionally I will buy a Blu Ray + Digital on a new movie like Blade Runner 2049 and Logan. I keep the Blu Rays but watch mostly on VUDU. I will keep the Blu Rays and a player for the same reason I still download some porno to my computer.

One day the cloud will fail. When people start reverting to savagery bc pornhub is down, I will be king with my physical copies.

I own a few movies on Amazon Prime but I have a huge collection of DVD's and Bluray. I want to own something I can hold in my hand. What happens if I dump Amazon Prime?

I've got a bunch of guy movie classics DVDs (Tombstone, Slapshot, ect.) and I have put them on Craigslist and Ebay a couple times looking for an offer. Not a single response.

This is my philosophy. It’s only a matter of time Netflix removes Casino. Why buy a digital copy on Apple TV for $15 when you can buy it on Blu-ray for $5 on Amazon knowing you’ll own it forever no matter what.

Ooh, Casino is back on Netflix? I haven't seen that in seven years.

Hot take here, but Casino is a better film than Goodfellas

I liked both films but Goodfellas is the touchstone of mob films.

Oooooh, can't get on board with that one. Godfather II > Godfather, yes, everyone knows that, but Casino always felt to me like Scorsese saying "fine, I'll do it all again, but bigger" in response to Goodfellas being so egregiously robbed of Best Picture. It's still a terrific movie, it just sags under its own weight in spots where Goodfellas did not.

I know it's an unpopular take so I didn't expect to find much agreement on it. I just felt the characters in Casino were more compelling. Now granted that's largely because the real life Tony Spilotro was more or less exactly as Pesci portrayed his character. Plus it was fun 10 years after that movie came out to see everything unravel in the Family Secrets Trial. Perhaps those factors enhance my appreciation of the the film.
